An assemblage of random words. Let’s imagine exposing legislation to the scrutiny of the Internet. Also, this system would be much harder to buy. While it’s possible that I might be suckered into subscribing to the ideas of a group that I don’t in fact agree with, it’s much easier for me to trust individual groups when their advocacy is passive, and their record is open to examination and recommendation. This is only one possible way we might be better utilizing the radical democratization of the Internet.

An assemblage of random words. What light from yonder window breaks? No, this isn’t a post about Windows 8! Haha This is the consuetudinal post that tradition requires, the post of contrition, accompanied by beating of the chest and the shrieks and lamentation of professional mourners, who you can be sure I have hired to provide chorus for the act of my composition. Yes, it has been yea these too-many-to-count months since last I communicated with ye, O Internets. But what can I say? And you will, hopefu...

The Waddling Kitchen: Death:Expound.
http://wkitchen.blogspot.com/2010/05/deathexpound.html
The food wing of Waddling Thunder. This New York Times article on the examination system at All Soul's college, Oxford. Cheered me up rather a lot by reminding of some very happy times back at St. Andrews. What's funny is that St. Andrew's failures are similar to my own. Am I as detail oriented as I ought to be, given where I work and what I do? Nope Should I have been driven harder in college, rather than allowed to discover the wonders of discussing varieties of gingerbread with my friends?

The food wing of Waddling Thunder. A few notes from my weekend cookery. I tried the ginger scallion sauce from the Momofuku cookbook, a deceptively simple combination of oil, ginger, scallion, and other flavorings. Although it was good, and probably would have been very good with enough ginger (I used about 2 tablespoons instead of half a cup, as suggested), I think the interesting contrast here is with Mark Bittman's pad thai recipe,. The pineapple upside down cake in the ad hoc. What I'm Eating Today.

The food wing of Waddling Thunder. Pulinio's Bar and Pizzeria. I've been sort of infatuated with San Francisco since my visit a little more than a year ago, and so when I heard that the city's famed young farm to table "rock star" Nate Appleman was opening a restaurant here in New York, I was excited to visit. And Pulino's. In roughly the following proportions. Cumin seeds (1 second of pouring). 1/2 scotch bonnet, no seeds. Thumb sized knob of ginger. 1 tablespoon of curry powder. It occurred to me that...

Why Are You Still Here? Thursday, July 29, 2004. Spurred on by this post at the Howling Curmudgeons. My take on the whole dream team concept. Except I'll do it with a twist: every writer on my dream team will be drawn off my list of "bookshelf books. Hey, if Marvel can get the rotting corpse of Phil Dick to write Black Widow, it might as well have Melville ghost write a book as well. Wolverine, by Melville and Darrick Robinson. This seems to fit thematically, somehow. Call it a gut instinct. Hellblazer, ...

The food wing of Waddling Thunder. I hadn't seen this article concerning so-called "femivores". Let's just say that the answer is not what the author implies it is.
