Spring cleaning started early this year with Pit 91 glopping and maintenance. Since it is a dirty job, Laura donned our recently donated fishing waders/frog suit. Michelle did some reverse basting to remove water sitting. Here Karin gets those tough to reach support beams with. Her vacuum hose extender handle to suck up the dirt. We started in early November, and after 8 months there is now an empty spot in front of box 14. The "June gloom" weather during the last days of 5b matched the sadness we felt in knowing that the excitement of 5b would soon be gone. We had a good time discovering its intriguing asphalt infused stratigraphy and cool fossils including:. Alphie, the juvenile mammoth.

Secondly, it's been on or around ten thousand degrees around these parts recently; so hot in fact that it's blazing in the house even with the air conditioning on. we've gone from freezing ice box in the winter to raging microwave in the summer, all while living in relatively temperate southern california, so i'm definitely of the opinion that there is no insulation in this house. joy. Mijn speurtocht naar blinkend goud.en andere metalen. Donderdag 11 juni 2015. Einde zoektocht Ameland juni 2015. Vandaag al weer de laatste dag op het eiland. Vanochtend toch maar eens op het strand gezocht. resultaat; een blikje(troep dus), paar stukjes metaal ( lijkt op brons). Ook laatste dagen de struiken aan de weg ingedoken. Eén vondst was wel aardig. Een "speldje" misschien? Verder nog een munt (? 2 x 25 cent (1989 en 1998). 4 x 10 cent (1972, 1975, 1984 en 1993). 3 x 5 cent (1987, 1989 en 1999).
