8230;or am I merely ranting? Every single time that I import a csv file, you should assume that it is a comma separated file. Why you assume by default that every imported text file is tab delimited is beyond me. I am not aware of a special file type for tab delimited data. I feel better for getting that off my chest. December 27, 2012. A very foolish question. Book Review: Sources of Power – How People Make Decisions. Letting Go and Such. Blog at WordPress.com. Follow “Varied Thoughts”.

8230;or am I merely ranting? Book Review: Sources of Power – How People Make Decisions. The most recent is Sources of Power: How People Make Decisions. Sources of Power: How People Make Decisions. By Gary Klein. I was referred to this book by the book Making Things Happen: Mastering Project Management (Theory in Practice). 1 Purpose of the task – what I would call “the big picture”. Why are we wanting to do this in the first place? 3 Sequence of steps in the plan. This is where micromanagement comes ...

8230;or am I merely ranting? So, about nine months ago, I got a mind machine. Kit, put it together, and it was (and still is) the most successful soldering project I have done. The thing has some theory that it literally drives your brain waves. I wondered if it was true. So about two months ago, I got a mindflex toy off of Craigslist. I didn’t know what, if anything, I could do with it. But it turned out to be a great choice. Next, I am going to figure out how to store the output, and find out if. Follo...

8230;or am I merely ranting? I found a pocket knife in the back of the drawer today. It is a single blade, locking out, kind of a whittling knife mainly I guess. I carried that knife daily from about the age of, roughly, 7 to 15. I thought it was pretty bad ass, I suppose. I used it a lot, too. And I learned at least one life lesson. Never try to catch a falling blade. December 24, 2012. A very foolish question. Book Review: Sources of Power – How People Make Decisions. Letting Go and Such.

8230;or am I merely ranting? I’m about a week behind in my podcasts. Today, I listened to Econtalk on Makers. We shall see… if we’re lucky. December 17, 2012. My mind runs in generally four or five directions at a time. That’s how minds work. Whatever makes it out through the keyboard into the interwebs, you get to keep – if you want it. 8230;or am I merely ranting? A very foolish question. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to see the Dalai Lama in person. He spoke for about an hour and half at the basketball arena at the University of Oregon. It was a packed house — about 11,000 people showed up. The crowd was, as you’d expect, mostly aging hippies. It’s Eugene. Most of the town is aging hippies. 8221; But one question in particular stood out. An undergrad talked for about 30 seconds about some social service program she was in, working ...
