The Journeys of Holly, Chris, and Daisy. Saturday, July 16, 2011. So good to be back - in time for the birth of a friend's baby, late-night talks with friends we haven't seen for almost three years, and watching Daisy reacquaint herself with a place that we still consider, in a way, home. Here's some pictures of our trip to the Farmer's Market this morning with our friends, Jen, Dan, and Megan. We will miss this city and all you friends! Wisconsin State Capitol - still protestors. http://crossroads-of-my-doorstep.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Crossroads of my Doorstep. Mornings and miles, behind and ahead. Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Celebrating" is not quite the right word with which to describe this last day of August. We are, instead, "marking" our two months since leaving Germany and full month of living in Atlanta. There's so much about Europe that we loved, and it's hard to let that go. Balderdash. I would take these summers over frigid, snowy, 6-month winters any year. Here's why:. 4) The trees are blossoming and the skies are blue - e...

http://3-over-the-ocean.blogspot.com/2011/06/grugapark.html
The Journeys of Holly, Chris, and Daisy. Thursday, June 2, 2011. Thursday was a holiday because of the church celebration of the Ascension, and it was randomly also Father's Day in Germany. Chris was working, so I took Daisy to a park in nearby Essen that I'd heard a lot about but never visited called Grugapark. Daisy had a blast. Since I wanted to show Chris what we did that day, I have quite the photo journal of our experiences:. Courageous Daisy on this glider rope. Cool park featuring wooden posts.

Is what Daisy dubbed the dish I initially presented to her as "Sesame Pasta." Since then, we've shared this simple meal for lunch more than I care to admit. If you'll allow me a brief foray into the world of culinary blogging, I will present to you the best lunch ever:. Pasta, Tahini, Soy Sauce, Maple Syrup. 1 Boil pasta and drain. 2 Add enough tahini to lightly coat. I used to bl...

Crossroads of my Doorstep. Mornings and miles, behind and ahead. Wednesday, September 21, 2011. Americans get to pick their poison. Less exercise and poor health, or walking on roads where more than 47,000 people have died in the last ten years.". From an excellent article by "Transportation for America". This is certainly my conundrum here in Atlanta. I don't often feel so fired up about community politics, but I am about this. Just one appalling example of what Chris. Where sidewalks should go. Just no...

The Journeys of Holly, Chris, and Daisy. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Something else we need to ship back this summer. Farewell, German Christmas! Predictably, I fizzled in my Reverb10 prompts. Oh well, I can always revisit them if I feel led. Turned the corner to a bluesy "Silent Night" blaring. From a loudspeaker; someone handed us some fireworks. Monday, December 13, 2010. We were walking across the Charles Bridge on a crisp but sunny morning in Prague. You want to know, too? When Theoden is mourning a...
