The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey
Expat Diaries: Electronic Meltdown
http://expatdiaries-cecileeugenie.blogspot.com/2013/03/despite-my-sensible-decision-year-or.html
The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey. Thursday, March 28, 2013. This post has been updated: see postscript. Despite my sensible decision a year or two ago to stop buying electronics "back home" - the money saved was not worth the hassle of getting things repaired or replaced under warranty from here in Turkey - I admit I've bought a couple of items in Canada since then, and have regretted it each time. And then what did I do? Is it wake up time? No, not yet," I'll...

http://expatdiaries-cecileeugenie.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey. Friday, March 25, 2011. I've often joked about how rules in Turkey are flexible and I've shared with you how I once got out of a parking ticket; but this takes the cake:. Due to the university exam that will be held on Sunday, March 27, daylight saving time throughout. Labels: daylight saving time. Thursday, March 17, 2011. Tuesday, March 15, 2011. I have been too annoyed about Turkey's all-encompassing Blogsot ban to write ab...
Expat Diaries: January 2013
http://expatdiaries-cecileeugenie.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey. Thursday, January 31, 2013. This post has been updated (photo). For the first time in what seems like ages, I'm spending a holiday at home. It would require too much mental effort to actually stop and think about what we did last year and the year before that during this two-week break between semesters in Turkey; but I'm sure we weren't here, at home in Istanbul. I have a sneaking suspicion I promised photos in a recent blog;...
Expat Diaries: Family Photo Shoot Co-op
http://expatdiaries-cecileeugenie.blogspot.com/2012/12/family-photo-shoot-co-op.html
The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. Family Photo Shoot Co-op. Since my husband or I are always the ones taking photos of our family, we have very few pictures of the four of us together. And the ones we do have were taken spontaneously by a friend on their phone . and while great, don't lend themselves well to printing. December 21, 2012 at 4:01 AM. Beautiful family photo, however. Hard to believe your baby is so big already.
Expat Diaries: November 2011
http://expatdiaries-cecileeugenie.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
The adventures and frustrations of life and motherhood for an expat in Turkey. Wednesday, November 23, 2011. Universal Adventures in Motherhood. Well, you don't need to be an expat to have a "frustrating adventure of motherhood" like I did this evening, right smack in the middle of what my dear friend Lisa refers to as the witching hour. And while I'm cleaning that, said toddler pees on the floor. Tuesday, November 22, 2011. After almost missing Halloween entirely, I bought my son's costume. Yes, I b...

Tuesday, November 8, 2011. But short lived it was. Last Thursday the grey settled in. I’m not talking grey skies as in rain. I mean grey air as in I can see what I’m breathing! Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Kate and I extended our work session until 7 pm since more sailors kept arriving. As we headed out for the evening the two of us were bubbling about how much fun we had. This wasn’t work it was too enjoyable. And the best part? Knowing that we were going back to do more shifts later in the week. For some u...

EXPAT DIGEST
Posted by Chris S. Attaway, Sr on October 23rd, 2012. An older woman took a package to the post office to mail and was told it would cost $3. 95 for fast delivery or $2. 30 for slower service. 8220;There is no hurry,” she told the clerk, “just so the package is delivered in my lifetime.”. He glanced at her and said, “That will be $3. 95, please.”. We are not old enough to retire. Even if we were, we want to be active and do some work as we live abroad. The reasons include 1 part.
