JAPAN: Hiroshima – Expedition Expat
https://expeditionexpat.me/2016/11/22/japan-hiroshima
We're packing-up and moving to China! Now how exactly do we do that…? November 22, 2016. November 25, 2016. After our stop in Kyoto. We were off to Hiroshima. We felt compelled to visit Hiroshima for its historical significance to see “the other side of history.” What we did not expect was to enjoy the city so much; it really is a beautiful place filled with delicious food! I love the look and style of the castle outer walls in Japan. Other buildings on the castle grounds. After dinner we took a quick wa...

We're packing-up and moving to China! Now how exactly do we do that…? November 20, 2016. The next stop on our 13-day Japan journey was to the lively city of Kyoto! Before I get into all the fun things we saw in Kyoto I would like to take a moment to thank. The people who got us some swanky new luggage for Christmas: Mellen and Lar-wii! Waiting to board the train to Kyoto. I need to tie my shoes. The future is here…bullet trains. My favorite part of the imperial palace ended up being the gardens as we wer...

BALI: Ubud – Expedition Expat
https://expeditionexpat.me/2017/01/16/bali-ubud
We're packing-up and moving to China! Now how exactly do we do that…? January 16, 2017. The second part of our trip was spent inland in the city of Ubud. Known for its proximity to jungles and rice terraces, Ubud is generally a little more peaceful than the popular beach area of Kuta. Dave getting ready to head down one of our first waterfalls. David – about to be pummeled in the face by water. Me – about to be waterlogged. Dave REALLY about to get pummeled in the face with water. Mount Batur @ Sunrise.

We're packing-up and moving to China! Now how exactly do we do that…? December 30, 2016. January 11, 2017. BALI: Kuta and World Heritage Sites. Plumerias are so pretty and smell amazing…. Welcome to vacation. Note one of our new Australian friends lurking in the background. The omlets and banana pancakes for breakfast really hit the spot too…. We pretty much spent half our time in Kuta under this umbrella or borrowing the surfboards from these guys. Their salesmanship was impeccable:. 1 Pura Tanah Lot.

Faster Than Light…. May 1, 2016. Well, they have said or I have read it some where, that when you start a blog it is usually hot at the beginning and tappers off as you go on your adventure. Sorry, I tappered off a little to much…. Okay, that said, we are in the “Final Count Down” mode until we are finished with our first year of living and teaching over seas. This year has gone by so fast, I’m glad we did not have any snow days! The time has really gone by really fast! It’s a 16 hour flight.😀. You are ...

The New Year – fosterfamilyadventure
https://fosterfamilyadventure.wordpress.com/2017/01/01/the-new-year
January 1, 2017. This year has gone by so fast it doesn’t feel like we have been here for 2 years and we will be here for a third year! We return to school tomorrow and then get another break for Chinese New Year. This will last for a week and a half. After that break there is only like one three day weekend and one four day week in the mix until we get out of school in June. But it all should fly by really fast, I hope. We had a great Christmas this year! This was short and sweet. That is nice to know.

November 7, 2015. Where has the time gone? When we traveled to China in August we lost a day and I don’t think we have really found it yet, probably this summer when we travel back to the US and we should get it back! We received the first care package last week and were excited to receive bigger jars of peanut butter! Hopefully they will last for 2 or 3 months. It’s the little things that make us happy! This is a picture from my hospital room in Hong Kong. It has been 1 month since my crash. I will send...
