A Guide to the Best of Everything in the Ocean State and Beyond. Friday, July 18, 2008. Out Of Office Reply Day. Today was Day 3 or 4 of a string of perfect days to be on vacation in Rhode Island. The inland temperature topped 90, but at the coast it was in the 80s with a cooling breeze. If you were at work today, you must have been lonely, because everyone else was off. It wasn't a day to do any kind of business, and most people were smart enough to know it. Kayaking on Ninigret Pond in Charlestown.
