The Maltese cuisine is influenced from many years under different conquers and different civilisations over the centuries especially Mediterranean cooking. Soppa tal-Armla (Widow’s Soup). This soup used to be made by poor widows from the cheapest vegetables , especially in winter to keep them warm and healthy. It contains different vegetables like cauliflower, beans , potatoes and many other , all mixed together with tomato paste and sometimes even a poached egg is added. Torta tal-Lampuki (Fish Pie).
