Lori and I traveled to Algonquin Provincial Park last week to try and catch the fall colours. The park was very busy. I’ve never seen so many photographers! Maple Leaves and Stream. I’m glad we decided to head this way. There are so many fires out west, it would be difficult to travel in some areas. So far we have travelled through Quebec, stopping in Riviere du Loup and then on to New Brunswick. Waterfalls, Riviere-du-Loup, QC. We did a couple of short trails the day we arrived. Paddling in Killarney Provincial Park, ON. We found a few things to photograph. Some were close to home such as this cardinal in our back yard. We read good books, drank good wine and paddled to wonderful places. We also got a lot done around the house. So all in all, it was a great summer. The summer of the canoe.

When we arrived on the 28th it was raining and there were thousands of shorebirds lining Chaplin Lake (a saline lake) in a feeding frenzy. They looked like they were starving!
