We train all of our volunteers. Training includes knowing the progression of this disease, how to care for someone with Alzheimer's, and what to expect and how to help during ExtraCare program day. ExtraCare's program is a big success because of their volunteers. We appreciate and value each and every one of them. A Typical Day at ExtraCare. Each guest is welcomed by name. Small Group and Individual Activities. Mind Joggers (stimulates the mind). Games such as Uno and Bingo. Crafts and other artistic expressions. Brown bag lunch from home. Light exercise (chair workouts and walking). Shop for the Holidays. We host an ExtraCare Craft Fair. At the Wildwood Presbyterian Church the Saturday before Thanksgiving. With over 50 crafters displaying their items, shop for that unique item. This is one of our favorite fundraiser we prepare for each year. ExtraCare is an independent,. IRS 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization.
