What Started It All. In 2014, CR Surfacing Australian Lens Company, Adidas Eyewear and the Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists kindly provided for our equipment and educational material. Our first team of three optometrists examined over 150 patients mostly children over two and a half day in late September. There were many more waiting to be examined but we had run out of time and resources. Nevertheless we were happy that 36 patients received spectacle correction. Mdash; Sir Edmund Hillary.

Each year a team of optometrists trek to the Everest (Solukhumbu) region of Nepal to provide primary eyecare and training to the hospital staff.
