Yosemite | eye to the viewfinder
https://eyetotheviewfinder.wordpress.com/2015/01/05/yosemite
Eye to the viewfinder. Yosemite Valley floor. This may be the most perfect place I have ever been. We stopped the car and hopped down by the river. We sat on stones on the riverbank and just listened to the birds and passing cars. I wish we could have stayed here longer, but we wanted to hit the road for Lake Tahoe. We ended up going across Ebbett’s Pass to get to Lake Tahoe, which in hindsight mightn’t have been the best decision the sat nav made for us! Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window).

Eye to the viewfinder. Time to make hay. These are from a few weeks ago, when the whole country basked in glorious sunshine. Farmers were run off their feet trying to get hay cut before the weather broke,…. This is my island in the sun. I’ve been singing this all week as Ireland basks in soaring temperatures. We went up to Killiney Hill on Tuesday evening, strolled right up to the top and enjoyed…. What a difference a week (and a year) makes. It’s all about the babies round here at the minute! Build a we...

Eye to the viewfinder. When I started to make clothes, skirts seemed like the easiest things to start with. No crotches or leg lengths to worry about, no boobs and curves to have to work around. This is the second skirt I’ve made, and by far the easiest. I must make a few more for the summer! The pattern came from Lisa Comfort of Sew Over It. Via Tilly and the Buttons. Eye to the viewfinder. Back after a very long break, I know. The opportunity of getting the camera out has been few and far between the last while… or maybe it’s just been that I haven’t been bothered toting it about in my handbag. The light in California was amazing, it was so clear and beautiful. More pictures again soon…. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Ingredients for two hearty bowlfuls:. 1 large red pepper. 2 cloves garlic (whole, skin on). 1 smallish butternut squash. 1 tsp ground cumin. 1/2 tsp chilli powder. A couple of glugs of olive oil. Ethiopian Food | The Green Umbrella
https://thegreenumbrella.wordpress.com/2014/09/05/ethiopian-food
Opinionated fun loving big eater seeks attention. Stuff I want …. Things I have discovered in Australia …. Last night for the first time I visited an Ethiopian Restaurant with two friends. This colourfully decorated restaurant is at the end of a pretty non-descript row of shops in Hamilton Hill. We ordered Sambusa (similar to Indian samosas) while perusing the menu and quickly ordered a second portion as they were so tasty and arrived with a lovely sour cream dip! Service was prompt and friendly. Address...

Category Archives: In the kitchen. May 23, 2012. Whiskey Week comes but once a year, but oh, what a glorious week it is. This time last year, I wasn’t much of a whiskey drinker (with or without the e) but a day spent sniffing, swirling, sipping and sampling at Whisky Live. Changed all that, and I’m now a confirmed mistress of malt. So far, this year’s festivities are just as thrilling, with the launch this evening of Irish Distillers’ Yellow Spot. Single pot still, and more exciting events. March 12, 2012.

A year of food adventures in my Boston kitchen. 4th of July Chicken. I know what you’re thinking – no posts for two months, and she leaps back in with avocados, without so much as a by-your-leave? Actually, I don’t think anyone uses the phrase by-your-leave these days, but I like it). It’s true – I have been away from home and from blogging, and I’m sure I’ll tell you about it as we go along. But for now – back to avocados. Then I would know I had made it. 1 clove garlic, roughly chopped. 1 tbsp pine nuts.
