DisOrienta - Donata D'Urso and Wolf K. E-MA is a live choreographic plastic piece. It is the extension of DisOrienta’s research project at the Kujoyama Villa in Japan on the subject of experiencing the void and the silence between things and beings, like the action of breathing. Elastica is a wearable suit developed with low cost, DIY embroidered stretch sensors that functions as an interface for the performer augmenting his body, creating sound and data visualisation. The sensors give the intelligent sculpture a futuristic view, and make it entirely appropriate for a non-intrusive observation of the bee colony as well as the monitoring of the environment. Process but, by utilising Plymouth College of Arts Digital capabilities, take the process into a new direction in terms of the form and scale of the pieces. By cutting larger, more intricate moulds using Plymouth College of Art’s digital equipment, he uses these digitally made moulds to cast sculptural pieces using water-based resin; each piece is unique in its form.
