Mighty Distractible: May 2014
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2014_05_01_archive.html
Allergies, Be Damned! The smell of lilacs is like the nectar of the gods. The sad thing is, it only lasts about a week. So, what is one to do? Well, in my case, I take a trip to Madison's Arboretum and stick my face in blooming lilacs for about an hour and a half. By the time I'm done, I've gotten my lilac fix (and I've sneezed my head off) and don't feel quite as bad when the blooms start to brown and drop. So, let's start with the Arboretum. My friend didn't sneeze as much as me. Blue skies and sun!

Mighty Distractible: 3 Brothers
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2014/06/3-brothers.html
If you've ever been to Milwaukee and not eaten at 3 Brothers. Restaurant.it is a tragedy. You can get a meal there that rivals the best restaurants anywhere here or across the ocean. The menu has a selection of Serbian dishes for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Granted, the menu leans heavier on the meat side, but my vegetarian family gets along there just fine. The dregs of our Serbian salad. The original bar with Schlitz globe. Years and years ago, this location was actually a Schlitz. I would love ...

Mighty Distractible: December 2013
http://mightydistractible.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Leave it to pregnant friends to reignite one's knitting bug. "Makers" can't seem to help themselves when it comes to babies. Itty-bitty hats, sweaters, quilts, and more, all scream to be created for the new person entering the world. Perhaps it's because a hand-made gift is truly made with the recipient in mind and is, usually, tailored just to them. Night time (MORE awesome! Off the needles came my original gift idea (a baby balaclava. Which is slightly weird but super-practical). And on went the new.

My Sweet, Simple Life: April 2012
http://wonderfullysimple.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
My Sweet, Simple Life. Wednesday, April 25, 2012. When the Andersons came. I apologize for blogging out of order, but for some reason that's just how it came about this time. The weekend before last we had some visitors come, and in typical Sarah fashion, I didn't breathe a word of it to my kids- partly because I can't pass up a good opportunity to surprise them, but also because I couldn't face the inevitable and incessant "Mom, when are they getting here? Mom, where are they? Mom, are they coming today?

My Sweet, Simple Life: September 2012
http://wonderfullysimple.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
My Sweet, Simple Life. Tuesday, September 11, 2012. Like everyone else in the country, today my mind keeps drifting back to what happened on September 11, 2001. I woke up today, unaware of the date at first. It was just another weekday. But once I realized, I've thought of little else. I don't have the words to express how I'm feeling today. I'm not sad or depressed, yet I feel myself fighting back tears often and talking in a calmer, more quiet way. Somber. Maybe that's the word. I can see it from where...

My Sweet, Simple Life: August 2012
http://wonderfullysimple.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
My Sweet, Simple Life. Friday, August 31, 2012. I've heard a few Blogger users say that they've been having trouble uploading photos lately. I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I'd give it a try- no issues.). I didn't take any photos today, but here are the ones from our first visit. Finnley was a surprisingly good little picker. I was sure he'd just stand around eating berries the whole time, but he was actually quite dilligent. Links to this post. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Since Instagram is my ...

Adventures with Fabric — ★ House of Many Hues ★

House of Many Hues. Kristina @ House of Many Hues. My latest project involves performing experiments on fabrics by intentionally spilling liquids on them. Why would I do that you ask? If you’ve never researched upholstery fabrics, you may not know that the majority are non-machine washable not so great when you have two kids under 4. In fact, many even stated that only non-water solvents are to be used when cleaning. What are non-water solvents? Does that mean dry-cleaning? 3 House of Fabric. Thanks....
