Julia's Sewing Blog: I'm back!
http://juliasewing.blogspot.com/2011/09/im-back.html
In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Monday, September 26, 2011. I seem to have taken the entire summer off and more. Good for me! You can check out a bit of a holiday we had in New York State, if you are interested, at my Flickr site here. I folded the bias around the raw edge and folded under the ends and sewed the whole thing down. I also pick stitched all around the neck edge, to k...

Sew Therapy: My Lame Post
http://sewtherapy.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-lame-post.html
Wednesday, January 13, 2010. So I know I have been a really neglectful blogger of late. In my defense, it was the holidays and school and life were really starting to get in the way of my hobbies. Right now, my sewing machines are in Ottawa, and I am in Montreal. so no new projects to post. blah. In other news, Ottawa now has a new fabric store (see link below) that I will have to check out ASAP. Also, Fabricland is having its members 50% off sale this Saturday. In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Thursday, January 21, 2010. The linen outfit and then PJs and a robe. I accidentally deleted a set of photos at Flickr (I still don't know how I did that) and they all disappeared from my blog. So I had to edit the last entry and stick them all back in there. I also don't think I am going to put one on this jacket. Maybe if the fabric was plain ...

In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Thursday, May 19, 2011. Not another pink jacket! So there I was, having finished the reversible pink jacket, wondering what to do next. I got out my new Badgley Mischka pattern, thinking I would use it to make the raw silk fabric that I've had for ages, into a Chanel-like jacket. I got out the linen dress and jacket. Something prompted me to pull ou...

In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Sunday, August 22, 2010. The perfect shirt, template. I pulled out sleeve pattern pieces, and front and back pieces from different patterns, and layered them to see how different they were from each other, and maybe try to figure out why some shirts wouldn't allow me to stretch my arms out in front of me. I didn't find anything! I had it in mind tha...

In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Tuesday, May 03, 2011. Reversible jacket and other things. Http:/ koreanwarmlbu.wordpress.com/. Here is the two-sided denim, all ironed and laid out. I have far more than I need for a jacket and I don't know what to do with the yard or so I have left over. Not a skirt - it is too quilted and bulky for that. I am modifying this pattern. In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Tuesday, April 29, 2008. SWAP for a trip. I'm going on a 2 week trip to France in a warm month (i.e. soon) and all I'm taking is a 35 litre MEC backpack. And carried everything in two panniers so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to do this. I LOVE that vogue pattern! April 29, 2008 9:01 PM. April 29, 2008 9:09 PM. This will be so cool! Julia's Sewing Blog: November 2010
http://juliasewing.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
In which I make some clothes, expound on the virtues of the flat fell seam finish, and proclaim "you CAN sew your own clothes, and even wear them in public". Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Well let's see, it's only been two months since I last blogged here. Good grief. But in the meantime, I ran an election (and lost) and learned a whole lot (and blogged over there. And I started novelizing the emails I wrote in 1995-6 when I was in London for a year (for NaNoWriMo. And yes, I finally finished that shirt:.
