It's News to Us: April 2009
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Happy flowers: 2009 edition. Remember last summer's happy flowers. Allow me to introduce this year's edition: Tidal Wave Petunias in my favorite shade of fuchsia. Although I don't have the space or the energy to recreate last year's flower bed. I had to do a little something, and a nice big pot of blooming flowers always makes me happy on a hot summer day. Let's hope these babies do as well as last year's! Monday, April 27, 2009. Sunday, April 26, 2009. Even taking classes at Lou...

It's News to Us: Happy flowers and sprouts
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2008/06/happy-flowers-and-sprouts.html
Monday, June 2, 2008. Happy flowers and sprouts. Here are the happy flowers that greet Nick and I every day at the front door. Here are Nick's sprouts. He's got cherry tomatoes, two types of peppers and some lettuce. The only problem is that, except for the lettuce, we can't remember which is which! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's News to Us: Oh there they are!
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2009/05/oh-there-they-are.html
Thursday, May 14, 2009. Oh there they are! In London, 2001, patiently waiting for my hair to dry sans hair dryer. Bad haircut plus no hair dryer equals bad hair day on an England vacation. Well, I happened upon my pictures from the England trip as I was looking for something else (Casey's tennis ball, of course). I wrote about my hair dryer tragedy here. And now I have the pictures to prove my point! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). It's News to Us. There was an error in this gadget. The two of us.

It's News to Us: November 2008
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 23, 2008. For the past two weeks, my sewing machine has replaced my computer on my desk. The set-up is a little cramped, but not too bad. When you don't have a kitchen table, you've got to get creative. A close-up pic to give a tiny preview of some Christmas gifts I'm making. Can't show more than this until the gifts are given. Once the gifts are given, I'll post photos and links to the Web sites where I found my inspiration. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Sunday column: Casey and me.

It's News to Us: Catching up
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2009/04/catching-up.html
Saturday, April 25, 2009. In my mission to take back the summer, I am getting myself motivated to do more than work, sleep, eat, watch TV, repeat. Although as many of you know, I've had a good excuse for doing nothing more than the bare minimum for the past three months! Lucky for you blog readers (all three of you! It's News to Us: March 2009
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Thursday, March 5, 2009. Sunday column: Safety first. When it comes to safety, let’s just say that my husband takes it very seriously. Don’t get me wrong — I’m not complaining; being safe is important. And, it does mean a lot to me that he cares enough about me to always want to make sure I’m safe. But, he can get carried away. These are all important safety measures no matter where you live or how many valuables your home contains. But, to check it every night? I don’t find that quite as logical&#...

It's News to Us: Feeling domestic
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2008/05/feeling-domestic.html
Sunday, May 18, 2008. Nick was so excited to mow the grass with his brand new lawnmower. He had to wear that cool mask because of his wicked allergies. We're not sure if it helped much, though. My new flower bed after I'd weeded it (forgot to take a true "before" picture) and mixed in lots of good potting soil. You can't really see the two trumpet vines I planted a month ago, but they're in the middle. I even bought garden art! Nick planted some seeds: peppers and mesclun mix. Labels: The two of us.

It's News to Us: February 2009
http://itsnewstous.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2009. The other day in the newsroom, we were talking about how journalism is "in the blood" of many of us. When we started talking, I recalled how, after a bout of wanting to be a ballet dancer, I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. For as far back as I can remember. But as for newspaper work, I couldn't remember specifically wanting to do that. What a funny memory, and one I hadn't remembered for years until we had that conversation at work. Turns out I wasn't the only...
