The Book Design Review
http://nytimesbooks.blogspot.com/index.html
The Book Design Review. Monday, January 11, 2010. And That, As They Say, Is That. After almost 5 years and 1,112 posts, I've decided to put The BDR on indefinite hiatus. It's been a great ride. I've enjoyed almost every minute of it. But the joy of discovering and sharing has, over the past few months, become the tedium of finding and posting. So it's time to stop. I might resurrect The BDR if it feels right, or I might blog about something else. It's too early to tell. Follow me on Twitter ( @theBDR.

Final Major Project: March 2011
http://p-singer0811fmp.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Today I went out to document plant life and any letter forms I could see. The tree below was one of the best examples with an unusual 'u' shaped branch. Labels: Brief 3- ISTD Brief (Not just fleurons). Labels: Brief 4 -YCN.

http://sara-wood.blogspot.com/2011/10/autumn-weekends.html
Monday, October 24, 2011. The last couple of weekends were spent with family in Pennsylvania, and I'm so glad that we were able to get a healthy taste of *genuine* autumn—something that's easy to forget about here in concrete-covered New York. The following photos were taken at Terrain @ Styer's in Glen Mills and Highland Orchards in West Chester. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I design book covers, draw pictures, take photos, and eat food. View my complete profile.

sara wood illustration and design: THE GODS OF GOTHAM
http://sara-wood.blogspot.com/2012/03/gods-of-gotham.html
Wednesday, March 14, 2012. THE GODS OF GOTHAM. Tomorrow will be a bit of an exciting day for me, as my first "big" book cover will finally appear on store shelves. The Gods of Gotham. The plot literally opens with an explosion—a great fire that actually did ravage over 300 downtown buildings in the summer of 1845. After Timothy Wilde, Gotham. Everyone's expectations were high from the get-go, and it was made very clear that I needed to design a cover that would live up to the quality of the literature...
