After weeks of hard work including creating maps, using geographical vocabulary, writing a letter and designing and making vehicles, their efforts were finally rewarded. Year 2 Fairfields Blog. Year 2 trip to QMC. January 20, 2015. On Thursday 8th January 2015, Year 2 went to QMC to study plants. We went on a trail outside to explore how plants survive in winter. We dissected a bud to see the different layers that make it up and protect it from the weather. We saw how evergreen leaves are thick and waxy to help them survive the winter.
