Faith In Small Things: Homeschooling the Catholic way: January 2013
http://www.faithinsmallthings.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 20, 2013. The post where I catch up seven months.oops! Here's something about me:. Starting new things and I am notorious for giving things up. That's not the case for blogging.I really. Just took a little break and lost my momentum. Now, it's. January and I have the whole. Half of the school year to catch up on.oops! So, you would think that because this was my second year homeschooling that I would be free from the first year jitters. That I suffered last year.right? What IS new this ye...
Faith In Small Things: Homeschooling the Catholic way: November 2011
http://www.faithinsmallthings.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. What comes after "Teach Your Child to read in 100 Easy Lessons? What do I use after "Teach Your Child to read in 100 Easy Lessons? This is exactly the phrase I googled after we finished the book I raved about here. The program "Teach Your Child to read in 100 easy lessons". TYCTR) is so good that it literally has your child reading at about a first or second grade reading level at the end. The problem is what to do after. Actually, at the end of the book TYCTR. Plaid Phonics" ...
Faith In Small Things: Homeschooling the Catholic way: Day 5: Books and media that inspire virtue
http://www.faithinsmallthings.com/2012/06/day-5-books-and-media-that-inspire.html
Friday, June 8, 2012. Day 5: Books and media that inspire virtue. Welcome to the final day of the 5 Days of Virtue Training series! If you didn't catch the earlier posts here they are:. Day 1: Speaking the Language of Virtues. Day 2: How we teach Virtues. Day 3: Training to be a Virtuous Mother. Day 4: Virtue based activities. Was going to focus today's blog post on specific children's books that demonstrate virtue. I had a nice little list ready to post and then I changed my mind. Our family listens to ...
Faith In Small Things: Homeschooling the Catholic way: October 2011
http://www.faithinsmallthings.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 25, 2011. Praying with Frank Kelly. This is Frank Kelly. He is a Catholic, a healer and no undoubtedly a man who has a message to share. My family met him yesterday at a healing mass in our area. I had heard about him briefly in an email sent by the Catholic homeschool group I belong to. I planned to go see him last week, but my youngest girl was sick, my kids were cranky and my husband was working late. So, I decided to stay home instead. I almost left. I was not. But, just I was ready ...
Faith In Small Things: Homeschooling the Catholic way: February 2012
http://www.faithinsmallthings.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. So, you think you want to homeschool? It's that time of year. That time where parents who have been dabbling in the homeschool world are second guessing their decision to homeschool. Oh, I am very familiar with this time. Remember, I'm the mom who registered her daughter for Kindergarten, went for orientation, and convinced myself that I should not. I had convinced myself that having Sofia miss Kindergarten would be this earth shattering shift in her life. Um, wrong. ...When ...

Somewhere up North...: July 2010
http://redblair.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Catholic and on Fire. Tuesday, July 27, 2010. I need a nap. I love summer. I really do. I love our family time. I love the kids involved in camps, swim lessons, library time, playing outside ALL DAY long. I love sleepovers, (we've had more this summer with my two oldest than we ever did back home), I love friends playing at our house everyday. But what I don't love, is the fact that I'm about 10 days behind on my sleep. 10 days you say? Friday, July 23, 2010. It's nearly midnite. Ricky has had about ...
Somewhere up North...: August 2010
http://redblair.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Catholic and on Fire. Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Here we are again. So the scenic route took me up several small back roads and seriously into Amish country, an Indian Reservation, and about 2 dozen little side of the road stands with all kinds of fresh veggies.man I need to carry cash. And in a week I'll be able to put my table and chairs out back and have dinner on the patio and the next day we'll pack it up for the snow. Just kidding, but it will seem like that. Sunday, August 22, 2010. We are back fro...
Somewhere up North...: A tad calmer today...
http://redblair.blogspot.com/2013/01/a-tad-calmer-today.html
Catholic and on Fire. Wednesday, January 9, 2013. A tad calmer today. I thought to myself-I'll just take a little. Wegman's has all kinds of containers so I really did just get the small one and crammed it full with fried rice, spicy chicken, a shrimp roll, fried green beans and something else I can't remember the name of, but it reminded me of fried noodles. Oh.My.Heavens. Anyway-he laughed at me. Which lately has become easier and easier. And the bassinet cover still fits! So we then ventured upstairs ...

Catholic and on Fire. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Pain in the hip. This is not my hip, but it's pretty cool just the same! I guess it's about time I blogged about my ridiculous hip in detail considering today was the "shot day." I need some music right there that goes something like, "Du-du-du-dum.". I will back up seven weeks. I never really considered there could be an underlying issue. Now, I know you'll find this a great surprise-but I couldn't get in to see the doctor for two weeks! Once I was at ...

Catholic and on Fire. Sunday, October 31, 2010. Pumpkins, bones, and Halloween! I love the fall. With that said, enjoy the Hallow's Eve weekend photos. We had such a great weekend. These are called no bake peanut butter bones. It's the same concept behind peanut butter balls, minus the chocolate. You can actually add chocolate frosting according to the recipe, but we had so much fun making these look like fingers, we opted not to add chocolate. Now maybe if we had some red frosting.hmmmm. Each child help...

Somewhere up North...: September 2010
http://redblair.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Catholic and on Fire. Thursday, September 30, 2010. Finally I have some pictures to post! The patio was poured at the end of August. We made the flower bed and planted some plants and rocks around it. ME is my show model. The future fire pit. (once we scale it down to one level and widen it out a bit). First note the green (awesome) grass. My wonderful hubby spent a boatload of money and time to reseed, refertilize and basically REDO our yard. It looks WONDERFUL! We also had a pad poured beside the drive...

Catholic and on Fire. Wednesday, June 23, 2010. We had an earthquake today! About 1:45 (I am quite proud to admit that little G. And I were asleep.) I was awoken to someone shaking my bed terribly and was about to turn over and pop little G. On the booty when I realized she was sound asleep and NO ONE was shaking my bed. The bed, my dresser, the nightstand, my lamp, everything was SHAKING BY ITSELF! Me back that it was a 5.5 magnitude in Southern Ontario. I have since researched it myself and fou...Data ...
Somewhere up North...: January 2013?
http://redblair.blogspot.com/2013/01/january-2013.html
Catholic and on Fire. Tuesday, January 8, 2013. The last time I blogged? Good grief. And I sometimes scold my children for not continuing what they start. Humble pie is being consumed as we speak. I am SO behind my blog. I think the pregnancy hormones along with the very depressing election, just sucked the life out of me and my desire to blog for a while. So with that said, 2013 is a new year! Going for gold this year! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Word on Fire-Fr. Robert Barron. A tad calmer today.
