Faith in the Journey

Tuesday, April 29, 2014. Did my 11 year old just say that? This humbles me to say out loud, but yes, I want my children to be the stars of their athletic teams. I'm all about team play and working together! Now, I never communicate these feelings with my children yet I do tell them that in my book they are "my stars" and I"m very proud of them. A bit of my own paraphrase.) And it's true. As a former athlete myself I would be remiss if I didn't honestly express that I liked scoring! Gentleness is wonderfu...

Faith in the Journey: March 2011

http://faithinthejourney.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 30, 2011. Yesmy name is Earen and I'm addicted to coffee. Some days (I know this is terrible) but I find myself drinking more coffee than water! I get a little half n' half and pour my coffee with my Stevia and then top with a little bit of whip cream and it's just a little delight! I wish I was that way with carrots or salad, but alas I'm not. In a couple areas of my life I can honestly admit that I'm addicted.coffee, makeup. Those are my weaknesses. Monday, March 28, 2011. I wonder if ...

Faith in the Journey: October 2009

http://faithinthejourney.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 20, 2009. It's not long before the lies start creeping in.those "non-truth" lies that start infiltrating our lives and before we know it we're down a slippery path of destruction. We're not sure how it started or happened except that we are now in a position where we enjoy the pity party and sulk in our negative thinking. In our heart of hearts we know this to be destructive.but we have been deceived into thinking it's ok. What does God say about you, son? We must change our thinking bef...

Faith in the Journey: October 2012

http://faithinthejourney.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Tuesday, October 9, 2012. I received on September 3rd, an extremely precious birthday card for my 37th birthday. It was from my Grandma. I didn't realize how precious her last written words to me would be because 17 days later she went Home to be with Jesus. September 20th, 2012, will forever be etched in my mind as the best day of my Grandma's life! She will never be forgotten for she holds quite a special place in my heart. I miss you sweet Grandma. Faith in the Journey: February 2009

http://faithinthejourney.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Thursday, February 19, 2009. The ugliness of being sick. It never ceases to amaze me the feelings that accompany my heart when my children are sick. Worry, stress, anxiety, frustration, love, sadness. How can so many different feelings come all together as a package deal? I hate when my kids are sick. Mostly, I feel so badly for them as they are completely lethargic. I find that I also try to mold God into my same "plans and agenda". "Here God, this is what we should do. This is how I want my lif...

A Kiss, A Hug, and A Squeeze: October 2009

http://kisshugsqueeze.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html

A Kiss, A Hug, and A Squeeze. I fell in love with this wonderful man. In college and married him 14 years ago. We have two sweet and energetic boys, ages 9 and 6. Some of my passions are alone time with my husband, cuddle time with my boys, and homemade mashed potatoes (preferably prepared by my Mom). But my "One Pure and Holy Passion" is to know and follow hard after my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. View my complete profile. 100 Things About Me. Song of Solomon 4:7. Rose in the Making. How's your stomach babe? Not so good. I really hate being sick. It's awful. I wish Adam and Eve had never sinned. long days short years: tangible encouragement

http://longdaysareshortyears.blogspot.com/2014/08/tangible-encouragement.html

Long days short years. The days seem so long but really the years are flying by. Welcome to my randomness as I try to savor those long days because I know someday the years will be gone and I'm going to miss this! Sunday, August 10, 2014. In the midst of it, sometimes I forget how to breathe for a few moments. I feel the familiar tightness begin to close around my chest and use all of my coping skills to keep myself from falling off the precipice into the bottomless cavern of anxiety. Mundane Miracles: Rejection, my old friend

http://readaboutrenee.blogspot.com/2011/10/lonelies.html

Looking for the miracles hidden in the everyday. Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Rejection, my old friend. It's amazing how the present can bring up the past and make it seem so real again. Mommyno one wants to play with me at recess anymore. Not even my friends. I ask everybody, and nobody wants to play with me.". Oh how this mama's heart hurt at those words! I dug a little deeper and was able to find out that while she did play by herself at one recess, she played with 2 girl friends during the 2 nd.

Rose in the Making: Happy Birthday Katie

http://roseinthemaking.blogspot.com/2011/03/happy-birthday-katie.html

Rose in the Making. My little Katydid turned 5 today. This birthday has been anticipated for some time. The poor girl has no concept of time, and every time someone would have their birthday, she'd sigh deeply and inquire when it would finally be her turn. Boy do I remember the days when time seemed to go so slowly! But she made it, and made it a point to ask every night how many days were left until the big day. Sunday, March 20, 2011. Mundane Miracles: Wrestling

http://readaboutrenee.blogspot.com/2011/05/wrestling.html

Looking for the miracles hidden in the everyday. Monday, May 02, 2011. When I was younger and more full of myself, I read the story of how Jacob wrestled with an angel of God. I remember thinking to myself. How could someone wrestle with God? They must be prideful and arrogant. And then to say "I'm not letting go until you bless me? I can't even imagine! I feel like I was up all night wrestling with God.". Oh, how I am like Jacob! It's hard. Unbelievably hard. You'd think it would be easy, right? Today, ...

Faith in the Making. 8230;know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Jas 1:3. October 16, 2014. After taking several steps and passing up all the pennies he noticed out of the corner of his eye a dollar bill in the street near the gutter. He ran toward the dollar bill and bent down to pick it up. Just then a car raced by; it splashed water from a small puddle onto the man and blew the dollar bill away. As he went back retracing his steps he noticed that all the pennies were gone! The man ...
