A Little Bit of Change. Two Cents from the Religious Left. Archbishop Wenski on the Centrality of Social Justice. October 13, 2010. Below are excerpts from Archbishop Thomas Wenski’s. Homily at the meeting of the Haitian Bishops Conference in Miami on 26 September 2010 — the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Let me begin our reflection on the readings we have just heard with a quote. A Little Bit of Change. Two Cents from the Religious Left. A friend of mine provided the inspiration for this blog with a song she wrote when she worked in a performing arts ministry called Beacon Street. Based in Cleveland, OH. Https:/ faithjustice.files.wordpress.com/2009/12/barb-ballenger-a-little-bit-of-change-00-a-little-bit-of-change-1.mp3. I’ve asked her to describe the particular inspiration for the song:. A Little Bit of Change. Two Cents from the Religious Left. Scriptures for 9/11: They Couldn’t Apply to US, Could They? September 11, 2011. Sometimes the Word is so wonderfully troublesome for the powerful. On the Church’s calendar, today is the “Twenty-Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time,” but for Americans of course, this is no ordinary day, but the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. By a graceful coincidence, the readings for today. Speak to this experience with a clarity that needs no comment:.

Tuesday, October 7, 2008. What's in a name? William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet. My mind is split over this post. On one hand:. And we were angry and poor and happy,. And proud of seeing our names in print. A Song Of Defeat. There's enough for a full post on that poem, but that's for another day.). On the other hand:. You have but to know an object by its proper name for it to lose its dangerous magic. That aside, I have been asked by multiple people in various forms ( Exhibit A. Now, imagine that I pu...
free convection: a few predictions
http://freeconvection.blogspot.com/2014/11/a-few-predictions.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2014. What is happening in our world? Along with a few friends including primarily my boss, I've been speculating. The West is weak. Our moral fiber is thin. Globally, the populations of the erstwhile powers are declining. In Europe (and in the US, to a lesser degree), the indigenous populations shrink while populations of Muslim immigrants grow at a stunning rate. Add all these things up. What do you see? Here's a bit of a prediction:. The Caliph will invade and conquer and/or an...

Honestly anonymous, and unafraid to admit it. Wednesday, January 03, 2007. I feel in the air. Earth mother goddess is in the house to give a forecast.). 2005 was the kind of year that I wanted to end prematurely. It was too stressful, too overwhelming, too out of hand. All of that crap caused a sticky entrance for 2006. 2006 began with anxiety, feelings of abandonment, a lot of breaking down, an embarassing injury, and an infection that is nothing short of terrorizing. 2007, however, feels different.

A Little Bit of Change. Two Cents from the Religious Left. Adrienne Rich (1929-2012) on Art an Justice. March 30, 2012. We cannot say that we are very familiar with the work of the late poet Adrienne Rich. But a recent profile of her. Write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.". Time Sometimes she's beautiful and delicate. Patient and kind. Like a flower, waiting until just the right moment to open. And other times she's a cold, ruthless bitch thinking of nothing other than her motive, her time frame, letting nothing stand in her way. Maybe a little.
