http://familjenhoppe.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
December 25, 2013. Merry Christmas, God Jul! It is currently 2:45 pm here in Sweden and we are enjoying some post Christmas downtime. Leo is sleeping and Lina is playing with with her new toys (quietly and independently! We celebrated Christmas with a blend of Swedish and American traditions. We started with eating tomte gröt (santa porridge) the morning of the 24th and opening a few presents. Lina trying her cross country skis in the kitchen, naturally. Unconventional but, it worked out. Our first Chris...

July 10, 2015. Summer break so far. Our summer break started June 8th. We have had very schizophrenic weather. We had 50's and rain, a few days of sun and then a week a rain. This seems to be the pattern this summer so far. A few nice days and then lots of rain. Here are some highlights from some of our summer activities and midsommar in Äpplebo where Gustav's parents have a summer cabin. Lina biking around the local skate park. Lina making an "hat elevator". Leo mowing the lawn, in a dress. Musicians pl...

Familjen Hoppe: February 2014
http://familjenhoppe.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
February 26, 2014. We started off Lina's birthday with a Swedish tradition of waking her up with singing, presents and a little snack in bed. Lina thought it was so exciting and opened a few presents before school. Lina got a crown at school and all the kids sang to her in English and Swedish. Lina hamming it up while opening all her presents. Birthday cupcakes after dinner. Watching one of her presents, "Tangled" and still wearing the crown. Lina is very excited about her 1st birthday party in Sweden!

Familjen Hoppe: April 2015

April 4, 2015. As you may have noticed life is not allowing much time for blogging. It is a frustration for me as I find this is a good way to keep everyone updated about our life and it makes keeping in touch easier. However, at the end of each week I find myself mentally tapped out and barely capable of speaking in full sentences let alone writing in them. Tomorrow we head off to the mountains near the Norwegian border for a week vacation. Lina tried salmon skiing once and cross country a few times...

April 22, 2014. Easter weekend- Part 2. Easter is such a big deal I felt it warranted two posts. Sunday we drove to Brattfors where the cousins have their summer house. It is about 45 minutes away. We enjoyed playing in the yard before lunch. Leo got a lot of attention and liked riding on the car. Farmor and farfar also came out so we had Easter with the whole Hoppe/Stork clan. Leo and the girls. You need your grass cut? Farmor helping Lina open her egg. Leo naturally wanted to climb all over :). Saturda...

June 4, 2015. Lina is currently VERY into arts and crafts. She can spend hours creating projects and is very creative. Below are some of her most recent projects and some pictures of her. To be fair, Gustav rearranged the letters on the doll she made. She couldn't understand why I was laughing. The is the solar system, along with all the normal planets Lina made "fork planet and "Lina planet". Lina rode a horse at a petting zoo we visited last month. Lina likes to make clothes for her stuffed animals.

Familjen Hoppe: March 2014
http://familjenhoppe.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
March 31, 2014. Last Sunday we went for a walk in our new neighborhood. One of the major perks of living on the grounds of a tourist site in Sweden is it is a car free zone. Occasionally service vehicles drive around and of course you can drive on the street we live off of but cars are not permitted past the end of our street. This means we can let Lina bike without having to worry about cars. A spot to grill near of house. Our house is about a quarter mile behind the big yellow building. March 27, 2014.
