family feeding dynamics: August 2010

http://familyfeedingdynamics.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

What's on my mind and on my table. Monday, August 30, 2010. Purple beans: kids are naturally excited about foods. M's summer camp had a lovely little garden. I was bemused when a note came home one day with, "she even tried green beans! They are a favorite.). We don't need to make smiley faces out of foods, or over-sell foods with crazy names or try to get kids to try new foods with bribes, reward stickers or praise. We ran out before D got a chance to taste them. Have you tried new foods with your kids?

family feeding dynamics: some decent books at Target

http://familyfeedingdynamics.blogspot.com/2010/10/some-decent-books-at-target.html

What's on my mind and on my table. Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Some decent books at Target. After raling about a book. Warning, Oliver Twist, is NOT a kid's story. Murder, mayhem, multiple kidnappings, moms dying in childbirth. October 26, 2010 at 7:48 AM. I love these books too. Luckily I read Oliver Twist for fun before I tried to read them to the kids. Your forgot to child and partner abuse to the list ;). I am glad you pointed out that these books are printed in the USA. That helps! Not sure Kate....

family feeding dynamics: Hummus, really!?

http://familyfeedingdynamics.blogspot.com/2010/10/hummus-really.html

What's on my mind and on my table. Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Note: I will be out of town from the 13th-23rd, so expect another posting towards the end of the month! So, M has seen hummus with meals at least 100 times in the last 3 years. I love it (local Hollyland. Hummus is the bomb) and it is often there for lunch with other options. Out of the blue, she asked for hummus. She pulled out the hummus, I peeled a carrot for her and she nibbled on that while we chatted and I tended to the French Toast.

family feeding dynamics: the aspirations we have for our little girls... depressing

http://familyfeedingdynamics.blogspot.com/2010/07/aspirations-we-have-for-our-little.html

What's on my mind and on my table. Monday, July 26, 2010. The aspirations we have for our little girls. depressing. Girls book of Glamour. A Guide to being a godess. Girl in the tub scrubbing her dainty, surely 'fiercely' polished toes.). The Boys Book of Greatness, how you can be the best at everything. (boy playing hockey). This in the tween section at Target. I am out of town. Will try to reply to comments when I get back. It seems to be getting worse, it seems unstoppable. It makes me sad. It...When ...

Figure Eight and Look She Dates. A journey into body acceptance, joyful movement, and health at every size. Now with more dating! Thursday, December 16, 2010. Breaking Out of My Shell. It's time to make a plan for more fun, more adventures, more excitement, more playfulness, more ME. I am more than my work. I need to make sure that is reflected in the things I'm doing, the places I'm going and the people I'm spending time with yet I'm not sure how to make that happen. I am still afraid. Think Love Sleep Eat. Raspberry Cupcakes with White Chocolate Raspberry Buttercream. Raspberry Cupcake with White Chocolate Buttercream. White Chocolate Raspberry Buttercream. Rainbow colored sugar is from Dean and Deluca! 1) This recipe is super easy. And quiet. Like the lemon cupcake recipe. 4)The cake itself isn't especially pretty. When the raspberry cooks, it gets quite a bit darker, so the cake is more of a deep purple than a pretty, pink "raspberry" color. Some pink or red food coloring mi...From ...

Think~ Love~ Sleep~Eat: December 2007

http://thinklovesleepeat.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html

Think Love Sleep Eat. Over Christmas in the Rocky Mountains this year my sister got up each morning and made her favorite breakfast treat: Rice and Eggs with cheese. Her daily breakfast was so beautiful and unique I HAD to include it in the blog. This dish is best, I think, with an over-easy egg. With a soft yolk can mix the golden goodness in with the rice and melted cheese. Not to mention the fact that it's the perfect breakfast to fuel a day of winter sports! 1 cups uncooked rice. 1-2 T shredded cheese.
