Hitting the pavement, powered by plants. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. A Family-sized Farm Share for One. This was the first week of our CSA share from Farmer Dave's. We're technically splitting the share with our friend, The Paperblog Princess. But she's jetsetting right now, leaving us to kill off the share ourselves. Chris picked up the first major armload of veggies on Wednesday and promptly flew off to Dayton for a wedding. And so, a family-sized share of veggies quickly became a farm share for one. The v...

Come join me under my rock ...: November 2014
http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Come join me under my rock . Thursday, November 27, 2014. A Heart Full of Joy. Some years are more challenging than others - no one will argue with that. Looking back, 2014 was a particularly rough year for my family and for many families dear to us. So this year I am thankful for the challenges we weathered together, our family and friends who stood by our side and my new Jamberry family that had help me find myself again. Wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving and a safe, healthy New Year! Nifty Pe...

http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2013/09/and-now-in-ibook-format-this-is-my-mom.html
Come join me under my rock . Saturday, September 14, 2013. And now in iBook format! This is my mom. A story about living with Fibromyalgia. Audrey and Maddie reminded me today that I didn't share the book they helped me write about having a parent with fibromyalgia . I hopped over to my publishing site and lo and behold, they now have an iBook option! I haven't been able to test this version yet but I'm so happy that my girls encouraged me to share this here. It's a cumbersome something in a hand that re...

Come join me under my rock ...: A Goal Set: Thanksgiving Update
http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2012/11/a-goal-set-thanksgiving-update.html
Come join me under my rock . Thursday, November 22, 2012. A Goal Set: Thanksgiving Update. About a week after I wrote the post A Goal Set is a Goal Met. I brought my family to a Welcome Home Open House for Sensei Kayla Harrison - the first ever US Gold Medalist in Judo. I had a blast watching both my girls take a judo class from Sensei Kayla and was giving them snacks when Sensei Kayla said, "Ok parents. Your turn . Get on the mat.". He said, "Of course! I won a month of free judo classes and a free unif...

Melissa Abbott Art - Gloucester Journal. Monday, June 9, 2014. Rustic Grilled Freshly Caught Gloucester Mackarel with a Wedge of Lime, Ear of Corn, and Greenbeans paired with Beautiful Homegrown Garden Salad. Your know you must be a real Gloucester Native if you relish a bit of Grilled Mackerel, if you aren't a Gloucester Native and you like Grilled Mackerel then that's as good as being born in the Addison Gilbert Hospital and going to Central. I use a Simple Olive Oil, Salt. This is the time of year.

Come join me under my rock . Monday, August 4, 2014. 1) Thank you for telling me the truth about how you got hurt because I really didn't believe the first story. 2) You seem to get hurt jumping on the bed alot. May want to think about that. 3) If you are going to juggle, try something soft. And don't do it while jumping on the bed. 4) Also, if you are going to juggle, please only juggle things that belong to you. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Outside of Boston, United States. Come join me under my rock ...: September 2012
http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Come join me under my rock . Thursday, September 20, 2012. A Goal Set is a Goal Met. The summer my children were six and three, I decided I wanted my kids to try new things during vacation. My eldest had been begging for gymnastics so we opted for that as one activity. For something completely different we decided to add in a summer course of karate at a local facility. I had planned to wait until third grade, until she was old enough to understand the commitment that a martial arts practice entails....

The last two days have been hard so I was NOT up for cooking tonite. I went with mac and cheese for the wee people and was TRYING to order the man a sub but all the sub shops were closed :. Noodles of your choice (prepare after sauce is made). Large scoop of chunky peanut butter (about half a cup ish). 1-3 tsp chili garlic sauce.

Come join me under my rock ...: Giving Thanks. 2015.
http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-goal-set-2015.html
Come join me under my rock . Tuesday, June 23, 2015. Giving Thanks. 2015. Three years ago, my then five year old was begging for martial arts classes. We had tried karate over a summer and something was missing. As my father (and I briefly) had trained in judo, I knew the differences between the sports. By watching her on the karate mat I saw immediately that what she needed she would find in judo. But there was a catch. A big, freakin, chronically-ill-mom-walking-with-a-cane catch. In the years followi...

Come join me under my rock ...: March 2013
http://mafebsrock.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Come join me under my rock . Friday, March 22, 2013. That's Not a Pizza. I ran into an unexpected hiccup during my first week of living vegan. Apparently to my eight year old daughter, my "going vegan" (as she puts it) is the end of the world. I know. Her teen years are going to fabulous. This first week was basically seven days of, "MOM! You can't eat cheezits! Oooooh no mom - EASTER! How can you celebrate Easter without eating hard boiled egg? It's easy actually) and the shot heard round the world.
