mama bear | farmergirls
https://farmergirls.wordpress.com/2015/06/05/mama-bear
We went to a new pediatrician today and I sort of lost my cool. The first thing she says is, “So they’re not in the same family.”. She went on to say that if I didn’t want to answer questions about them we should have talked privately before and I could leave if I was going to continue to be defensive and why did I not bring all of their adoption paperwork? How was I to know she’d walk into the room and tell my daughters they’re not in the same family? Responses to “mama bear”. Feed for this Entry.

K – Mama, we were playing vet-in-ears. Me, in my head – I have no idea what she just said. Me, out loud – I have no idea what you just said, sweetie. K- Vet-in-ears. That’s a person who is a vet and an engineer, a doctor for animals plus a person who can build stuff combined together like if an animal needs a new leg or something or an ear, and our first patient is Tiger (our cat) but her pretend name is Miss Big Whiskers. Me, in my head and out loud – Brilliant! Me, out loud – Love it! They’ve cha...

So, there was a live baby chipmunk in Keta and Francine’s bedroom the other day. Keta thought Tiger wanted to cuddle. She didn’t. She had a gift! They might not look like it, but they’re screamers, both of them. Responses to “screamers”. Feed for this Entry. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Deep Fried Goodness: January 25~ Visa Medical
http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-25-visa-medical.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. January 25 Visa Medical. This morning was the medical exam for the visa. Nothing too extensive. Just your basic exam and height/weight, etc. E weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs, with clothes, shoes, and a wet diaper. He was 27.5 inches long. They draw blood for tb testing for kids over 2, so we dodged that bullet, thankfully. They said he had no murmur! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). So I can just write anything I want in here? Deep Fried Goodness: June 2014
http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 24, 2014. These Kids. They are comedians, and they don't know it. Mostly for the sake of my memory, here are some recent(ish) conversations at our house. Me: Goodnight guys. I'm going for a run. Isaac: Then you'll be sweating LIKE A FREAK when you come in and hug us! Eli: Ababa, tell me the truth. Were you sleeping with your shirt off? John: Yes, I did. Eli: Are you lying? You need your shirt on! Me: (in an overly excited and encouraging voice) Raya, shall we go sit on the potty? Isaac: God...

Deep Fried Goodness: January 28~ Home!
http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2015/02/january-28-home.html
Tuesday, February 3, 2015. We stopped and picked up Isaac at school. We'd warned his teacher that were coming, and it was sweet, because then his class met Ephraim and said Ni Hao and said they'd been praying for us. Isaac was surprised to see us and more than happy to leave school early, and we headed home to meet the others! A bit of Chaos. (What is Isaac doing? My lap was suddenly very popular. All up in his face. All the time. He's mostly a pretty happy guy, tho. Teaching him some good stuff. Be " TH...

Deep Fried Goodness: January 26~ Shopping and Touring
http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-26-shopping-and-touring.html
Sunday, January 25, 2015. January 26 Shopping and Touring. This morning we were able to facetime with the kids back home, which was fun. Grandma Barb was relieved of her kid duties, and reportedly went home to take a nap. :). Aunt Amber and Grandma on The Farm (who probably did not bring her kittens with her, unfortunately) have now taken the reigns. The kids looked happy! It’s been a good trip, but I can’t wait to be home. There are shops and stuff in there now too. So… more souvenir shopping. January 2...

Friday, April 25, 2014. That One Time When Some Things Happened. Maybe one day I shall be so productive as to catch up on all the many wondrous and delightful things that have been going on here in the 'hood. But maybe not. I am far behind. For today let's cut our losses and move on. Checking on the seeds we planted. At the end of May, I am going to be working only 2 days per week. (And the villagers rejoice! So Quasi-Stay-At-Home-Mom, here I come! And I'm really excited about it! We are going to China!

Deep Fried Goodness: January 23~ The Garden
http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-23-garden.html
Friday, January 23, 2015. January 23 The Garden. The garden was beautiful, and it was nice to be outside and in the sunshine. I had Ephraim in the babycarrier thing, but he doesn’t really love it because he’d much prefer to be facing forward and looking all around him. Cuz I’m not much to look at. J. Here we are at the garden. with Matt's finger. John found a tall dutch lady to chat with. After the garden we went out for dim sum at a restaurant right by the garden. It was really good! Tanks of Live Stuff.

http://deep-fried-goodness.blogspot.com/2015/01/january-22-orphanage-visit.html
Thursday, January 22, 2015. January 22 Orphanage Visit. Today was basically more of the same. I was up at 230. I got up for a while, and then went back to bed. I might have dozed some, and then E was up at 7 and we headed to breakfast shortly after that. Anyway, after breakfast we hung around for a while. There are a couple channels on tv that are in English. There’s one that plays endless terrible movies, and another is the discovery channel, which is sometimes interesting, and sometimes l...Tomorrow be...

Saturday, June 6, 2015. Some Catching Up For Majorly Slacking Bloggers. Allllrighty. So we've been home for a while now. Things are going well! Also, busy. Who knew! Ephraim has been growing, and seems to be getting a lot stronger. He has a lot more stamina than at first, tho he has yet to take his first steps. He can stand up from seated position, but just wobbles for a second and then plops back down. He has a lot of encouragers, tho. I don't think it'll be too long. :). We LOVE our new house, and our ...

SALT OF THE EARTH HOMESTEAD
SALT OF THE EARTH FARM. We raise happy animals on pasture humanely. On a very small farm in northeastern Ohio. Photo by www.debralynnhook.com. What does that mean to us? That means that the animals are all free to roam, eat grass, and do what they are meant to do. and we all get along just fine at God's pace. Hog's noses are not rung, boars are not separated from the herd, and we don't use farrowing crates. Chickens beaks and combs are not cut, hens are free to hatch their eggs and raise their young,.
