Uaridi is the Swahili name for rose. Tuesday, August 23, 2005. There was some benefit. This is going to sound strange, but in a way I am not too sad that the Europeans came to our country. But now, I cannot imagine my life without coffee, cigarettes and BLOGGING. I shudder to think what my life would have been in those old days - child bearing, co-wives,working in the shamba, carrying water from the river (tried that once and nearly broke my back! Fendidng off raids from the Maasai and the Kambas. I do n...

If nations are allowed to commit genocide with impunity, to hide their guilt in a camouflage of lies and denials, there is a real danger that other brutal regimes will be encouraged to attempt genocides. Unless we.recognize this historical fact, we shall leave this century of unprecedented genocides with this blot on our consciences." - Baroness Cox, House of Lords, April 1999. New challenges, new hopes, new plans and of course new resolutions (quit smoking, lose weight, keep fit etc) I hope we will keep these resolutions. Of course I stopped doing that when I reached a certain age. I wish God's blessings on everyone of my friends and may 2005 be full of joy, happiness, opportunities for growth and pleasant surprises at every corner.

Uaridi: October 2005
http://uaridi2.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Uaridi is the Swahili name for rose. Monday, October 31, 2005. I learnt to love flowers, most especially roses from my mother. There is nothing as peaceful and soothing to me like looking at flowers. I grew up loving red, pink and white roses. It was not until I left home and travelled overseas that I have seen a variety of colours, shapes and sizes of roses. It is a constant wonder for me that God created flowers to delight our senses. Posted by Uaridi at 10/31/2005 01:49:00 pm. Tuesday, October 11, 2005.
