The Journey of one sailboat. Continued… So I managed to get a bit done, last min shit that will be important when I go out. The gear needed to be sorted, that is all completed with the exception of putting the anchors into the gear area. Before next week I need to finish up my work with the mast, pull the mast down, finish wiring and painting it etc. I will post more soon. Is a wire connector too expensive? I mean really, their like 20 cents, strip the wire, then crimp crimp and its done. Long story ...

The Journey of one sailboat. Harrowing Sea Trial (Part 1). September 6, 2011. On Thursday September 1st I took the La Sirene out for her sea trial. A one hour putt from Cabrillo beach to the San Pedro docks. Everything seemed to be functioning well and since I was as happy as I was with the mast set up I felt no need to put her under sail. The Shrouds are the wire lines that run from the mast to the stays. The stays are what those wires connect to, the adjusters in between those two are known as turnbuckles.
