During the summer of 2006, the East Mississippi Foothills land Trust received a $350,000 grant from the Mississippi Department of Environm ental Quality to develop and implement a watershed management plan for the Chunky-Okatibbee watershed. The EMFLT installed their fifth information station along the Chunky River on May 17. This one is located at the Chunky Shoals Fish Camp. The information stations are strategically located at river access points to provide a variety of useful information, such as river maps, distances to other landings, and a reminder for river goers to be good stewards of the Chunky River.
