Feels Like Flying: A Starting Line
http://feelslikeflying24.blogspot.com/2010/05/starting-line.html
Saturday, May 1, 2010. I do not love running. Running is hard. It’s repetitive. Put one foot in front of the other, over and over, and do it fast, and you are running. Wise people have said to me, “I only run when chased.”. I see their point. Running has hurt me, injured me, and swallowed up enormous chunks of my life. It has left me temporarily crippled, hobbling around like an old lady, for days. It led me. I am a runner. Goals are really great. It’s great to have them, and it̵...Why do I run?
Feels Like Flying: Life Lately by iPhone + Runner’s World Love
http://feelslikeflying24.blogspot.com/2014/11/life-lately-by-iphone-runners-world-love.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. Life Lately by iPhone Runner’s World Love. It’s true that I’ve been quiet lately on the blogging front. Life is good these days, but I’m still finding it so hard to carve out time for any creative pursuits. This weekend, however, I had a slowdown from work, so I’m taking advantage of the time to write. Looking back over my photos from the past two months, I found a few highlights. Paul and I went camping a few weeks ago, and we passed through Whole Foods to pick up some food ...
Feels Like Flying: Onward!
http://feelslikeflying24.blogspot.com/2015/06/onward.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Another week of Couch-to-5K successfully completed. I am a running goddess. In other news, on Saturday, Paul and I drove out to Hippie Hollow in northwest Austin, a city park adjacent to Lake Travis in a beautiful,. The ideal footwear for Hippie Hollow. We didn’t stay long, since it was already evening when we arrived and the park closed around 8:30 PM. But I’m glad we went—I’ve been savoring the memory of Lake Travis ever since. As for this week: onward to Week Three of C25K!
Feels Like Flying: Recovery and Ruminations on Failure
http://feelslikeflying24.blogspot.com/2013/10/recovery-and-ruminations-on-failure.html
Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Recovery and Ruminations on Failure. Today I went out for my first post-marathon exercise: a slow walk next to the tall trees with their autumn leaves swaying in the breeze. It’s chilly in Michigan today, so I was bundled up in tights, a scarf, and a sweater that has its own built-in hand-warmers. As I walked, I thought about the marathon training cycle that ended successfully on Sunday. I keep thinking that I really should not. After all, I. How do we decide what. Im glad I wr...
Feels Like Flying: Snail Running in Austin (Shell Yeah!)
http://feelslikeflying24.blogspot.com/2015/01/snail-running-in-austin-shell-yeah.html
Saturday, January 24, 2015. Snail Running in Austin (Shell Yeah! I wanted to write an update on my current half-marathon training cycle. I’m undecided on how to update this blog more regularly, but I’m not interested in closing it down. How to write a running blog when I barely have time to run? Maybe when I answer that question I’ll write a post about it! Anyway, the 87-mile Project. Is keeping me inspired to get some miles,. And most of those miles? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Running Thru Life: Abducted by Martians....AHHHHHHHH
http://run-thru-life.blogspot.com/2012/04/abducted-by-martiansahhhhhhhh.html
Saturday, April 14, 2012. Abducted by Martians.AHHHHHHHH. Distance: 6.2 miles. Temp: 51 and rainy. They call this race an "invasion of races," and they are not kidding. With a marathon, a half-marathon, a 10K and a 5K, the organizers have a full docket for all levels of runner. I was running the 10k today, since I probably am not good enough (YET) to run half marathons three weeks apart and I just ran the Rock CF Half. What do you think? Jeff's shirt, mine is somewhat larger! Overall, I would give this r...

Monday, May 20, 2013. Running for Your Life. Route: Ann Arbor Rd. Distance: 2.5 miles. So I decided to go out for a quick jaunt around the neighborhood, and for fun, completely changed up my route from normal. I decided to head through a neighborhood and out to the main road by my house, Ann Arbor Rd. Then I decided to loop back. along the way, I ran out of sidewalk. Here is the map of the part of my run that is hilarious:. Have you ever had a route that turned into a disaster? Labels: Anne Arbor Rd.
Running Thru Life: Novi Memorial Day Run 10K - Review
http://run-thru-life.blogspot.com/2013/06/novi-memorial-day-run-10k-review.html
Tuesday, June 11, 2013. Novi Memorial Day Run 10K - Review. Route: Novi Memorial Day 10K. Distance: 6.2 miles. Temp: 60 and Partly Sunny. First race of the year! I decided to start this year with a low key local run. Usually I start with the Corktown Races, but because I started my season so late this year, I pushed back to this 10k to kick of the year. I was quite nervous heading over to the race, as it had been over 7 months since my last race. The course was basically a neighborhood course, winding th...
Running Thru Life: January 2014

Friday, January 3, 2014. The Calm Between the Storms. Now I am at the end of my "rest time" after the marathon. My coaches from my running group, Running Fit 501. Said I should take a 3 weeks off, and I did. Then I was sick, and then it was Christmas, etc. So this time truly has been the calm between the storms. My running group picks back up on January 22nd, and we will be running outside! So I should be back to writing as I get back into running. I also will have a 2014 goals post up soon as well.

I prefer the company of peasants because they have not been educated sufficiently to reason incorrectly. - Michel de Montaigne. Friday, June 26, 2009. The Infidelity Train Rolls On. What I find absolutely appalling is these two's unwillingness to live up to the standards they so readily applied to everyone else. It is easy to sit in your high chair and call on everyone else to resign, suddenly it you and it is a different story. The hypocrisy is amazing. JD @ run-thru-life.blogspot.com. Links to this post.

I prefer the company of peasants because they have not been educated sufficiently to reason incorrectly. - Michel de Montaigne. Sunday, May 9, 2010. The amazing thing about Ernie was not his skill in game calling, although that was good enough to get him inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1981, a full 21 years BEFORE he retired. The amazing thing about Harwell was how he handled his life and impending death. He was a man deeply rooted in his faith (He opened every season with a Bible verse. The C...

Friday, June 26, 2015. Working on the Revolution! Last weekend, Paul and I had a busy few days of events with our Austin chapter of. Democratic Socialists of America. On Friday night, we were at Radio Coffee and Bar to talk about socialist feminism. On Saturday afternoon, we were at Austin Community College’s Highland location to talk about raising the federal minimum wage. And later that same day, we were at Sa-Ten (a local coffee shop) to talk about Bernie Sanders and democratic socialism. For Real thi...
