Fenland Ramblers photo gallery and walks reports. Saturday 31 December 2016. Hilary kindly agreed to lead an extra walk today around the Sandringham estate. This is becoming a regular end-of-year event and there is plenty of scope to vary the route. Much of this was in woodland with restricted views so I didn’t bother with any pictures. 9 of us took part in this 6.2 mile walk taking us from the visitor centre to the edge of Dersingham and back. Having done a loop, we stopped for coffee beside the 1st pond in Wereham. From here, it was largely road-walking to the 2nd pond in Boughton where we stopped for lunch. Sawyer filter bag modification. Way back in August 2014 I decided to modify my Sawyer filter bag to make it easier to fill because I found it a bit of a struggle to fill. So I ordered a couple of 2 litre bags and proceeded to cut the top off. Then I cut a length of plastic plumber’s pipe just wider than the bag and split this down one side,I also cut a piece of old hydration tube a bit longer than the plastic tube. My Highlights of 2016. Monthly Archives: December 2014. This was my last walk of my holiday in the lake district, i decided to walk the Newlands round (more or less) and set of from Keswick Camping and Caravan site, the weather was set fair so it was perfect walking weather. Taking the quiet route in. Instead of taking the more direct route up cat bells i decided to head towards little town and head up Robinson hoping to avoid the crowds. Busy up Cat bells. The only way is up! Someone's head on Robinson. Time for a top up.

A wander to the Steall waterfalls. For my 40th birthday i decided to run away to Scotland for a few days ( i didn’t actually run i drove up its a lot quicker) the Glen Nevis campsite was my destination perfectly located for some wandering in the hills. Glen nevis looking good. As i awoke on my first day i could see that Ben Nevis was covered in cloud so i studied the map (looked at it) and decided that there was a riverside walk that would take me to the falls direct from the campsite. Yay made it over.
