For the first dress, I modified a regular pattern to fit a woman who was one size on the bottom and several sizes smaller on the top. After extensive discussions with the bride concerning how she could have a dress she loved, I designed the middle dress and drafted a flat pattern from a 'sloper'*. I constructed all three dresses.

Pink brocade skirt and bodice, with inset puffed sleeves. I researched the period then presented Ms. Bunch with several design sketches, and made the pattern. Then she selected the fabric, and I built the dress and the headdress. (All of this was done via snail-mail, and there was no in-person fitting.
