A Year Abroad: September 2010
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. I've been back from England for awhile. I think its time to say goodbye to this blog. Or maybe just "see you again someday, friend.". Let's get real, I'm going back some day. But not for a bit. In the meantime, if I have anything to write, it will probably be here. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

A Year Abroad: May 2010
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010_05_01_archive.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. Doing Big Boy Things. After so much success in coming close to my goal of 6 posts/month, May has been a complete failure. My post on Ghent is a work in progress. I have 2 or 3 other ideas that I haven't even started on. I am, in fact, still alive, but I've been working on school stuff, job applications, and my pending dissertation. I'll be back soon though, neurotic as ever. Relaxing in my garden. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. Doing Big Boy Things.

A Year Abroad: Flags
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010/05/flags.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. What grabs my attention is seeing an actual flag flying on top of a building, above the entrance of the local town hall, and at the gate of an old castle beside the train tracks on my way into London. I love you for using the phrase tumbling moobs. June 4, 2010 at 4:16 PM. June 6, 2010 at 10:20 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Doing Big Boy Things.

A Year Abroad: In Bruges
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010/04/in-bruges.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. I think of all this, because spending a day in Bruges felt like being in "The Belgian Experience" in Epcot (unfortunately Belgium is not one of the 11 countries that actually has a venue in Epcot, so this theory will have to go unproven). Still, here's a fun little game I like to call: which of these is Bruges and which is the France exhibit in Epcot:. The top picture is from Epcot, and the bottom is at Jan Van Eyckplein. You should be a travel writer! That made my day.

A Year Abroad: In Praise of Gail Collins
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010/04/in-praise-of-gail-collins.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. In Praise of Gail Collins. I've been fairly outspoken about the distaste with which I view Maureen Dowd's. Between two people as literary, editorial kitsch. A cheap knockoff of real, incisive looks at what's happening in the world. So kudos to you, Gail Collins. Keep producing the kind of insightful, high-quality editorials that I demand. I only hope you never live to see the day some charlatan rips off your style for a lesser column. April 25, 2010 at 1:05 PM.

A Year Abroad: October 2009
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. For Robyn and Rachel. Well I gave Kiersten and Courtney what they wanted, so I must be fair. So here it is. Proof. I went clubbing. And perving. I think they go hand in hand. For Courtney and Kiersten. Funny you should mention Yorkshire pudding. This brought us to the titular treat: puddings. Ed was insistent that the true secret to a great Yorkshire pudding is the use of goose fat as the base. You'd be pissed if someone called you "deliciously fat" too. Yeah, no idea.

A Year Abroad: Ghent
http://billinbritain.blogspot.com/2010/06/ghent.html
Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. I'm not sure why it took me two months to write this, but at least its still quite fresh in my mind. Many of the churches downtown were either closed or undergoing repairs. In fact all over there were signs that we had arrived a year or so too soon, as scaffolding covered the faces of many buildings. Thankfully in some cases the attractions within were still open, as was the case with our first stop: Design Museum Ghent. Im so glad you wrote this. Ps write some more).
