Monday, November 25, 2013. Hot off the Press. Well, not really in full force. We're just stopping by here for a little, overdue update. Because my camera is broken and will remain that way until the rainclouds drop money, we'll keep posting to a minimum .(Perhaps, that is a relief to some of you? So before I get ahead of myself, here's a quick and dirty update. Ok, just quick, not so dirty. We unpacked 3 large moves which consisted of a lot of stored items that we never recalled having purchased and havi...

Saturday, June 29, 2013. This posting is to update all those who are trying to check in on us. Matt is still in training in Louisiana. Since the last post, we've visited Aunt Betsy, Grandpa and Grandma, and a farm where we stayed a week. Some great pictures of the farm but we're going to hold off on posting all that. Monday, December 10, 2012. We made our annual trip down to the Christmas market, which is always a treat. I've never been able to place my finger on what exactly it is, that makes this market have such a great atmosphere about it. The smells wafting up from various market stalls? Crepes, sausages, g lühwein. Hot waffles, paella, hot cocoa, moules, frites,.oh save me the calories! Or is it the endless array of festive lights sparkling in the chilly air? The happy strangers mingling among each other? Displ...

Wednesday, October 31, 2012. Seriously dude, put your ipad away and just follow the tour next time! The Eltz family built upon the site about 1,000 years ago and still owns it. Amazingly, despite attempts to siege the castle, and various wars in the region over time, the castle has remained protected. The castle was said not to be protected by landscape or barriers, but instead, secured by the wide reaching political and social influence of the family and their social networks. Sulking by cannon balls.

Monday, April 29, 2013. Bluebell Forest Halle Belgium. Spring has finally sprung! Can I get an "Amen"? The Hallerbos; Bluebell Forest Halle, Belgium. So as to not miss this year's bloom, I dropped the kids at school and headed off for a couple hours of me time. No spa, no stylist, no shopping excursion needed here- nope, just a good pair of shoes and a backpack will fill the ticket for refreshment. This might be my favorite place to just get lost! Wednesday, January 1, 2014. Year's End - Last posts from a tough year. These are the last posts from a really tough year. The move from Belgium, adjusting back to the US, and still suffering reverse culture shock, we are taking it all one day at a time. Matt deploys for at least 10 months starting this Saturday. So, to be frank, it feels as if we have yet another very hard year ahead. We hope you and your families look forward to a Healthy and Happy New Year in 2014. Keep us posted when you can!

Saturday, July 20, 2013. Namma, Matt's grandmother, celebrated her 94th birthday this week. The kids had a great time with festivities, from water balloon launches, water guns and the slip n' slide, to ice cream cake, there was no shortage of activities.or food. Believe me, quite an affair! For us, it was fantastic to play with the cousins and spend some time with them after so many years away. Thanks Jeannie and Gary for hosting all of us. We can't wait for your 95th! Friday, September 28, 2012. The kids LOVE the car wash. We don't use it often, so for the most recent trip, video was taken so we can go to the car wash anyday, right here at home. Links to this post. 4th year Birthday Wishes. Oh my I can remember when our oldest was just turning 5 years old and I felt that she might as well be walking out the door to college. Now the youngest is going to be 4 years old and I'm wondering who pushed fast forward on the clock? A birthday cake with candles. A bag of candy.

Friday, August 31, 2012. Mercedes Museum, Germany. Loved photographing something new. This time to subject was shiny, fun to look at, and remained still. The complete opposite of the monkeys that I'm usually chasing after with a camera. (OK, admittedly, the monkeys made it into the Mercedes photos here and there as well). A few years yet Arleigh- give it time buddy. You'll be behind the wheel of a car all too soon. Not likely a Mercedes unless you win a lotto, nevertheless, an auto.). Links to this post.
