whistling leaf blower: March 2013

Baby's first climb (and other spring break highlights). We took a train from champaign to see chuck in chicago. after a scramble and a near miss, we're saved by a time-zone change! The train was so crowded, they bumped us to business class. we shared the car with 2 amish couples speaking their own version of german and reading racy fiction. Spending time with chuck is what it's all about. Lego studies were on the agenda, as was the lego store, just two blocks away. We took an unconventional route to mill...

whistling leaf blower: April 2012

I had some chinese five spice, so i used that, but i skipped the star anise (not a favorite of mine) and did not cook the eggs for as long as recommended. also, i had no chinese black tea, so i just used what i could round up from my tea stash. This dish is a feast for the eyes. the most dramatic pattern appears on the inside of the shell, which, of course, gets peeled off before serving, but the peeled eggs also look lovely. the taste on the egg is rather subtle, but nice. I arranged them in a.

whistling leaf blower: lessons from foster kittens
http://whistlingleafblower.blogspot.com/2012/08/lessons-from-foster-kittens.html
Lessons from foster kittens. We aren't ready to have pets of our own yet, but we all love cats, so we decided to become a foster family. our first set were three boys, all orange tabbies. they were difficult to tell apart, but we found a few distinguishing characteristics, and gave them the names of the three youngest weasley brothers from the harry potter stories: fred, george. They could barely walk and seemed to be nearly blind. having the mama with them made it so much easier. she took care o...We ha...

whistling leaf blower: baby's first gif

As cosmo was building the x-wing fighter, he asked for photos to be taken along the way. then we made it into an animated .gif in photoshop. As i type this, the star wars sound track blares from a boom box and my 7 year old pours over a complete visual encyclopedia of lego star wars figures. Im so glad that its all working out well with the SW LEGO set. :). February 24, 2013 at 10:07:00 AM EST. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Growing a small family and a yard full of food. Peas in the new year. I've heard it's traditional to have peas on new year's day, for good luck and prosperity. black-eyed peas are what we have chosen in the past. but this year we went with chickpeas. the dish is called leblebi. Took me about a week to pronounce it without getting tongue-tied). Deborah Madison says it's common tunisian breakfast food. we thought leblebi. Is fun to eat, a pleasure to look at, distinctive and memorable in flavor. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bloomington, IN, United States.

Everything Erin: May 2008
http://everything-eb.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
A peek inside my random thoughts, projects, ideas etc. Saturday, May 31, 2008. Well, I've signed up to sew my most ambitious project to date - a winter coat. I've wanted to sew a coat for a while, I've had some fabric for over a year now and the pattern too, I just haven't gotten up the nerve to start it out. Then I read on Marji's blog. I will be sewing Simplicity 4403, view A (the one on the far right). Now, I just need to pick up my other items, lining, buttons etc. I'll keep you updated!

Everything Erin: Day 5: Versailles
http://everything-eb.blogspot.com/2008/11/day-5-versailles.html
A peek inside my random thoughts, projects, ideas etc. Sunday, November 09, 2008. Moving right along with our Paris trip. On our 5th day we took a trip out to visit Versailles, which was a 30 minute train ride outside of the city. The palace was immense and a bit overwheliming with all the ornateness. My favorite part was the grounds, which seemed to go on as far as the eye could see. Inside the palace, we toured the private apartments of the king and queen. It seemed like the beds were so small!

easy as adb: May 2009
http://easyasadb.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 2, 2009. Not quite THE park. [UPDATED]. But it's a lot closer and provides me with just the right amount of 'outdoors' that I need. It's practically my 'front yard', I don't have to bust out my not-so-green thumb, and it's always open. I'm lucky. I just go out to sit on my bench, I look to my left. I look to my right. Then I take a stroll around to admire our own tulip patch. And stroll a little more. Stop to admire the lonely tulip. 160;You're the winner! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, June 30, 2008. IPod cozy (for the nano I never knew I wanted;). What do I need an iPod for? You may find this hard to believe but my brain is constantly reeling with thoughts. Enough so that I can pretty much keep myself entertained for a 4 hour plane ride. And my taste in music has gotten such comments as, "why would you. However, I have an iPod rojo now (courtesy of a q-toe pass-tell. And I love it. Did you know that iTunes has FREE music on it? 160; . I am getting ahead of myself. Oh, and ano...
