Saturday, 13 June 2015. Give Joy and Thanks for a Wonderful Holiday! Rapturous Glory for Travelling is Great and Good! We made it all the way over the Atlantic from little old Lewis and again across to the West Side in safety. We enjoyed just a little part of So-Cal, but it was So-Cool! From Lochs to the Desert, we couldn't have seen more of a contrast and it was wonderfully different. Everything was new to us, whatever happened it didn't matter, it was all brilliant because we were there!

Friday, 24 January 2014. The British love to talk about the weather. XC weather, the trusted forecaster. A relatively mild storm has hit the island this weekend. The ferries to the mainland have been cancelled, the rain is hurtling along in horizontal curtains and everyone is glad they have nowhere they have to be. At least in our house. Since moving to the Outer Hebrides, a rock in the Atlantic ocean, we have expected the weather to be interesting and it has not disappointed. Wednesday, 15 January 2014.

Thursday, 19 December 2013. Things you take forgranted. I've been having a recurring daydream lately. It involves our piece of croft across the road. Its a beautiful spot with gorgeous views in both directions and I've always thought it would make a great spot for a campsite. Ignore the wrecked cars and scrubland, and think holiday view. Seaview - think summer. My idea was tested this week when our own house was rendered off-grid by a particularly ferocious storm. The bedside lamp when you're scared.

Thursday, 25 June 2015. We had the longest day:. We left Glasgow at 10.20 GMT and travelled for 7 hours, but on touchdown into Philadelphia only 2.5 hours had gone by. At 1600 Eastern timezone we travelled for a further 5.5 hours and touchdown in Los Angeles, but only 3 hours have been put on the clock. We got up at 06.45 and when we got to our beds that night our body clocks were telling us it was 03.00 the next day, but the world was telling us it was still only early evening.
