Sunday, March 17, 2013. Getting Back in the Groove. Well, here it is.the last day of spring break. I have accomplished a few little tasks like cleaning out the pantry, taking some clothes to get hemmed, organizing my closet, planting flowers- -(saw a snake, so it was short lived) and getting rest. Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Building Mathematicians One Day at a Time. My kids have always done alright in math. I do get excited about it. I like math manipluatives; I once spent an entire weekend painting hundreds of Lima beans orange. On the orange side of the Lima bean I used a black Sharpie to draw pumpkin faces and on the other white side I drew ghost faces. That's dedication right? This is me hard a work. It's as though you can just feel the learning right? We're headed into the thousands place!

Monday, September 1, 2014. Sit Spots - Assigned Classroom Seating. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone. For years I've had a classroom carpet with alphabet squares for my students to sit on. I always assigned students a letter to sit on and they did. End of story. They had a pretty colorful box all their own and they stayed inside of it. This year after moving to a new school, I no longer had that carpet. At first, I thought how bad can it be?
