Can you believe what we have to put up with from some of our clients? August 26, 2016. This is an email I received from one of our clients the other day! Upon brief research of various social media, including your very own blog, I don’t believe I am the sole incumbent of this feeling of disgust and revulsion at the sight of the % $ @&* (French! He is obviously too embarrassed to reveal his surname because he too is going to have to suffer the shame and indignity of being chauffeured around in this Citrus...

The Fly Fishing Rabbi: Fishing in Israel Part 1: Salt-Water
http://theflyfishingrabbi.blogspot.com/2009/01/fishing-in-israel-part-1-salt-water.html
Monday, January 19, 2009. Fishing in Israel Part 1: Salt-Water. I had the great pleasure recently to interview Italo Labignan host of the popular television show Canadian Sportfishing. Italo filmed a 10-day fishing expedition in Israel, covering many fishing sites in the Holy Land from the Red Sea to the Sea of Galilee. In this week’s article, Italo described why he chose to fish in Israel and his salt-water fishing adventures there:. The Fly Fishing Rab. Amir said: “There’s fishing in Israel? I’ll...

Monday, December 4, 2006. Bone Fish Sam picked me up at 7am in the lobby of the Westin Hotel on Grand Bahama Island. It was a few weeks ago, and my wife and I were in the Bahamas for vacation. I saw that the hotel offered a guided fly fishing excursion with Bone Fish Sam. I signed up, paid the $250 guiding fee (nobody ever said fly fishing was cheap! And was told to be in the lobby early the next day. This was going to be my first bone fish expedition. Picture: Bone Fish Sam with the fish we (he) caught.

The moon and bass on lures at night - what’s the story? — Henry Gilbey
http://www.henry-gilbey.com/blog/the-moon-and-bass-on-lures-at-night-whats-the-story
The moon and bass on lures at night - what’s the story? August 3, 2015. Should I be worrying about a full moon when going night lure fishing for bass? If that bright moon does actually affect the bass fishing at night anyway, because save for those couple of hard bangs on the rop tips, might it simply have been one of those nights when there weren’t many fish around? Any of you out there with some proper experience of chucking lures at night for bass? I love how lure fishing throws up so many questions, ...

How is fishing tackle tested before launch and are our expectations of it too high? — Henry Gilbey
http://www.henry-gilbey.com/blog/how-is-fishing-tackle-tested-before-launch-and-are-our-expectations-of-it-too-high
How is fishing tackle tested before launch and are our expectations of it too high? July 31, 2015. As much as we would love to believe that the fishing tackle we buy and use is rigorously tested before we ever get our hands on it, sometimes I can’t help but wonder if this is actually the case, indeed via working within the industry I can safely say that on a few occasions I have been, how should I say, a little shocked? Is this a normal occurrence? No warning, just one day the waders started to leak, and...

First bass on the Fiiish Crazy Sandeel, fished exactly the way its designer told me to — Henry Gilbey

First bass on the Fiiish Crazy Sandeel, fished exactly the way its designer told me to. April 27, 2015. I know how much planning, thought and testing Matt from Fiiish has put into the Crazy Sandeel, and it really struck home to me before Xmas last year when he told me that he was catching at least double the amount of bass on Le Crazy as they call it over the Black Minnow. I really got the chance to talk at length with Matt last week in Italy when we there tuna fishing/photographing. There is not remotel...

Daiwa Caldia 3000-A Mag Sealed spinning reel review - under £200 — Henry Gilbey
http://www.henry-gilbey.com/blog/daiwa-caldia-3000-a-mag-sealed-spinning-reel-review-under-200
Daiwa Caldia 3000-A Mag Sealed spinning reel review - under 200. April 29, 2015. I can’t find a single thing about this new Caldia that remotely niggles me. What’s not to like, and especially at that price? OK, so the tackle tart in me of course desires the more expensive Daiwa Certate, but I really like how the Caldia comes with a spare spool whereas the Certate doesn’t. Does this matter? How long is this new Caldia going to remain as deliciously smooth as it is now? You get what seems to be that typica...
