Jared's Science Journal. Science, technology and design. Jared's Science Journal. Monthly Archives: August 2013. August 13, 2013 5:41 pm. Also I soldered the second scout together today and so far it seems to work! I used the microcontroller and radio from the other scout to test so so far so good, if I can figure out how to attach the sensors. August 12, 2013 2:44 pm. On thursday I set up and ran the final test for the more rough surface. August 6, 2013 6:17 pm. After only minor setbacks and much solder...

Day 38 « Jared's Science Journal
https://jaredssciencejournal.wordpress.com/2013/08/06/day-38
Jared's Science Journal. Science, technology and design. Jared's Science Journal. Raquo; Shepherd University. Raquo; Day 38. We received the PCB order in from OSH Park at the end of the day yesterday and promptly started soldering this morning. Heat the copper and the pin enough to push the solder into the joint, do not simply melt the solder with the iron. We are looking at a working model of a Scout and and working prototype for or project. This is exciting news indeed. August 6, 2013. Day 39-40 →.

Assistant Professor of Physics, Shepherd University. September 10, 2012. I recently had an article published in the Physics Teacher, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Association of Physics Teachers. The article describes an experiment to estimate the size of onion epidermal cells by studying the diffraction patterns that are formed (like the one above) when laser light passes through the cells. Below is an abstract. Estimating the Size of Onion Epidermal Cells from Diffraction Patterns.
