The total eclipse would have been seen by relatively few people on the Faroe Islands and Svalbard in the far north of Europe. My GT has its mirrors removed for some reason. Also the carrier has pannier loops attached. I generally only fitted them for touring. This was likely for a trip the next month I took to Ireland. Note the blocks of wood taped to the loops to prevent the panniers burning on the silencers and the cheap cycle type lock. 5 August 2015 at 13:38.

Motorcycle racer Guy Martin is back for a second series of speed related challenges. In the second in the series he builds and races a bike at the Pike's Peak Hillclimb in Colorado. The bike is a turbo charged 1991 Suzuki GSX1100. Channel 4, 8:00pm Sunday Nov 2nd. In the first programme he attempts to beat the 24 hour tandem cycling record.

Tuesday, 26 August 2014. On a run yesterday to Oban yesterday I stopped at two interesting bridges in scenic locations. Clachan Bridge carries traffic between the mainland and the Isle of Seil. It stretches things but it's known as the "Bridge across the Atlantic". It was completed in 1793. Tuesday, 19 August 2014.

A window into random stuff that interests me; but mostly motorcycles. Saturday, 4 July 2015. A friend recently had a lot of problems with his bike misbehaving. It was an intermittent problem which came and went. In the end it turned out to be just a blocked fuel filter. Having cleaned out all of the goop which had accumulated on the old filter the problem went away and hasn’t reappeared, although that might be down to fitting an additional external filter which gets cleaned regularly. So, be warned.
