You can read my Saving St. Augustine’s Treasures blog post on this topic here. I will definitely be using this technique if I ever need to mat anything. It’s pretty easy to do, it’s strong enough to hold the drawings in place, and yet relatively easy to remove without hurting the art when the work is unmated. Zoe Strauss: Ten Years.

Week 1 | Internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art
https://pmainternship.wordpress.com/2011/06/12/week-1
Internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. June 12, 2011. This first week of the PMA internship program mostly consisted of orientation, getting to know the people in your department, and activities geared toward familiarizing the new interns with the museum. Day 1: June 6, 2011. We also got a tour of the galleries in the main building lead by one of the educators. This was very helpful since I had only visited the PMA once (actually, the day before) and had only time to visit a few galleries. Normall...

Internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. June 18, 2011. This week the regular schedule began, so Monday was spent with the other interns and the internship directors. The morning consisted of a field trip to Mt. Pleasant. This activity seemed to mutually benefit the museum as well as the interns. The staff was able to pick the brains of the demographic that they are trying to attract while the interns got to see the process of how exhibits/installations are planned. Week 3 | Internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Internship at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. June 26, 2011. On Monday, the intern group had three activities: a presentation by Irene Taurins, the PMA’s head registrar, a second helping of Masterpieces of the Collection, and a field trip to the Woodmere Museum in Chestnut Hill. Although I am fully on board with digitization projects, I still firmly believe that nothing can replace the experience of seeing an original work of art and I’m really excited to have the opportunity to do that this summer.
