Fremont Garden: Hostas in Early May
http://fremontgarden.blogspot.com/2015/05/hostas-in-early-may.html
A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Sunday, May 31, 2015. Hostas in Early May. I'm so glad that we put in this hosta bed several years ago. For the most part, it just gets better. One fern didn't make a repeat performance, but I have a plan to divide a big hosta and won't need that fern anyway. The two ferns on the left above are several years old and just get bigger every year. So far so good! However, stepping into the greenhouse that was FULL of geraniums was a mistake!

Fremont Garden: April 2015

A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Monday, April 20, 2015. For several years, I've talked about replacing the brick pavers that lined this bed with rock to make it blend better with the rest of the yard. I hadn't done anything about it, but when we were picking up one more scoop of mulch to finish our mulching, and David was willing to haul rocks home, I couldn't resist. I love the way it turned out. We are so glad to have the tree planting and mulching project behind us!

Fremont Garden: Growing Like Weeds
http://fremontgarden.blogspot.com/2015/06/growing-like-weeds.html
A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Monday, June 15, 2015. The geraniums seem to love their washtub! Added a couple of flags for Flag Day and the 4th of July. It's only been two weeks since I planted most of the flowers and vegetables, but everything is growing fast! I've already used some dill and cilantro. The tomatoes are growing tall and have some blooms. Fingers crossed! There's already one perfect little green pepper growing! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Fremont Garden: June 2013

A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Sunday, June 23, 2013. Into Every Life, A Little Rain Must Fall. The past few summers, our yard and plants have suffered due to drought. We've had much more rain this year and things were looking pretty good. Until last Saturday that is. When we got home on Sunday, the plants were looking a little rough. We were thankful for a dry house and no limbs down, but a little bummed about the state of affairs of the green things that grow. Also whi...

A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Sunday, October 20, 2013. We spent some time this weekend getting the yard cleaned up and ready for winter. We raked the front yard,. Trimmed stray branches on Amos the Amur Maple,. Admired the fall decorations (okay, that was just me),. Trimmed the crazy bush under the kitchen window,. I cleaned out the shed so you can actually step into it now. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Build a Composter - You Tube Video. The kiss of the sun for pardon,.

Fremont Garden: August 2014
http://fremontgarden.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Sunday, August 3, 2014. This has been a big year for walnuts.maybe too big. We lost two very big branches due to the weight. We were lucky that neither did any damage to the house, although the one above left a few marks as it slid down the corner of the house. As much as I hated to lose any of our big shade tree, it does look nice now that it's all cleaned up. The cucumbers are doing great! I'm a big fan of the ivy geranium this year!

Fremont Garden: September 2014

A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Tuesday, September 30, 2014. On my birthday, we went pumpkin shopping and came home with these beauties. I added kale (I think that's what it is) in a little green and cream saucepan this year. The walnut is looking pretty good, despite its drastic haircut. The yellow mum was a birthday gift. The mum in the red bucket will be orange when it blooms. The first flowers have found their way to the milk cans that David bought at an auction.

The drought seems to be over, and everything (except the grass) is still nice and green. Here's our little tomato! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

A garden is never so good as it will be next year.Thomas Cooper. Friday, September 27, 2013. It was a pretty good year for flowers at our house, but not such a great year for vegetables. This was by far the best crop of cucumbers we got all season. They were strange shapes this year, and some had skinny places in the middle. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
