Blurred Clarity: Our Style is Legendary is 1 Month Away
http://danielhg.blogspot.com/2011/02/our-style-is-legendary-is-1-month-away.html
Monday, 14 February 2011. Our Style is Legendary is 1 Month Away. One month to go. Yep, in one month Our Style is Legendary. Will open in the West End at the Tristan Bates Theatre and run for three weeks. It will destroy everything in it's path. No doubt. Excited but also feel a bit sick. Proof is in the pudding. I think it's beautiful, in a funny way. It may also make you cry. Your support would be much appreciated, hope to see all of my readers there. Not north, not south, all notts. Tall, Elusive, Pig...

Leonard Cohen | Always Abroad
https://alwaysabroad.wordpress.com/2009/03/02/leonard-cohen
But back home at the moment…. March 2nd, 2009. I break this self-imposed/kind of imposed on me fast in posting to share with you this fantastic link to a live Leonard Cohen concert. Touring at 74 (74! Has the oldies and the goodies: Dance Me ‘Till The End Of Love, Hallelujah, Tower of Song and one of my absolute faves, The Future with its dark and foreboding lyrics (“Things are gonna slide, slide in all directions, won’t be nothing, you can measure anymore”). Maybe I’m a Communist after all | Always Abroad
https://alwaysabroad.wordpress.com/2009/01/30/maybe-im-a-communist-after-all
But back home at the moment…. Maybe I’m a Communist after all. January 30th, 2009. I took the news. About the Wall Street bonuses rather hard this afternoon. I swore at the television. But, come on! Nearly 20 billion dollars in bonuses for financial execs who messed up the worldwide economy (well, more than messed up. More like a word that starts with f and ends with d, but there’s a u and a k and a c inside with an e). I mean, why are people getting more money when they messed up? When I see photos like...

TBR Challenge 2009 | Always Abroad
https://alwaysabroad.wordpress.com/tbr-challenge-2009
But back home at the moment…. Pick 12 books – one for each month of 2009 – that you’ve been wanting to read (that have been on your “To Be Read” list) for 6 months or longer, but haven’t gotten around to. OPTIONAL: Create a list of 12 “Alternates” (books you could substitute for your challenge books, given that a particular one doesn’t grab you at the time). Then, starting January 1, 2009, read one of these books from your list each month, ending December 31, 2009. :o). By Iain Banks (F — 244 pages).

I do so agree | Always Abroad
https://alwaysabroad.wordpress.com/2009/05/02/i-do-so-agree
But back home at the moment…. I do so agree. May 2nd, 2009. So, I don’t blog for ages and should probably tell you about the fantastic books I’ve read lately (except for Salman Rushdie…what’s up Salman with the wordiness and all the plotlines and the books that never seem to end? And the pregnancy and life in general. But all of this would require time and brain power, both of which are in short supply at the moment. So, instead, I’ll redirect you to this cartoon strip. Blurred Clarity: She-Pee
http://danielhg.blogspot.com/2010/07/she-pee.html
Monday, 12 July 2010. I kid you not, a device had been invented to enable women to piddle stood up and thus, defeat the phallocentric hegemonic oppression of visiting the latrines. HOORAH! It is called the She-Pee. Or She-Wee or a whole host of other urine based catchy titles, that mix terms for piss and the word she, or fem, or lady. Cool. If you're not clear how to use it, there is a handy guide below. The things people come up with. Monday, 12 July 2010 at 19:42:00 BST. We need latrine equality. Sunda...

Blurred Clarity: David Kato: In Memoriam
http://danielhg.blogspot.com/2011/02/david-kato-in-memoriam.html
Tuesday, 15 February 2011. David Kato: In Memoriam. You may not know who David Kato Kisule is, I think you should. He was a very brave man doing the right thing, an openly gay, gay rights campaigner in a backwater for human rights: Uganda; itself the ugliest jewel in the twisted crown of African homophobia. And I say was because on the 26th January 2011 he was murdered. We shall see. In reality, I doubt we will, such is the weight of state approved homophobia in Uganda. There is a real appetite in Uganda...

Blurred Clarity: Hunter S. Thompson Motivational Posters
http://danielhg.blogspot.com/2009/07/hunter-s-thompson-motivational-posters.html
Monday, 6 July 2009. Hunter S. Thompson Motivational Posters. More motivation to be found here. Monday, 6 July 2009 at 11:25:00 BST. I feel like the world is a worse place without HST in it you know. But, he went out with a bang which is what he wanted! Monday, 6 July 2009 at 12:19:00 BST. They forgot: Open Mindedness. And a photo of HST slumped at his typewriter with his head featuring one more hole than it should have had, a smattering of brain matter and the dropped smoking pistol. He was a crazy guy!
