Flat Stanley in Korea: English Academies in Korea

http://flatstanleyvisitskorea.blogspot.com/2011/03/english-academies-in-korea.html

Flat Stanley in Korea. Wednesday, March 2, 2011. English Academies in Korea. February 28th, 2011. Today I met some first grade students in Korea. They are a lot like my friends in California, but they are a little different. After school they go to another school to learn English. Many of them also go to even more schools to learn math, science, a musical instrument, or a sport. Wow, they sure are busy! Today, Monday, was their last day of first grade. On Wednesday they will start second grade!

Flat Stanley in Korea: A Korean Wedding

http://flatstanleyvisitskorea.blogspot.com/2011/03/korean-wedding.html

Flat Stanley in Korea. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. February 27th, 2011. Landon works with Ted, who was getting married and was nice enough to invite both of us to the wedding! The wedding had many traditions adopted from the West, like the bride wearing white, using rings, giving vows, and cutting the cake together. There were some elements from Korean history too, like the mothers of the two people getting married lighting candles and the wedded couple bowing low to their parents afterwards.

Flat Stanley in Korea: Arrival

http://flatstanleyvisitskorea.blogspot.com/2011/03/arrival.html

Flat Stanley in Korea. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. February 24th, 2011. I met Zosia’s cousin Landon when I arrived in Bundang, South Korea, which is just Southeast of Seoul. Flat Stanley in Korea: Seoul

http://flatstanleyvisitskorea.blogspot.com/2011/03/seoul.html

Flat Stanley in Korea. Tuesday, March 1, 2011. February 26th, 2011. I went on a short tour of Seoul. I saw some interesting buildings and had a busy subway ride on the way there. First I went to Jogyesa, a Buddhist temple. There was a parade of people who stopped every few feet to bow so low that they were lying on the ground. Then I saw Gyeongbok. Palace, one of five palaces in Seoul. I was just in time for the changing of the guards! Within sight of the palace was a statue of. King Sejong the Grea.

Eurasian Hobos: January 2014

http://euasiahobos.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

Friday, January 24, 2014. Bike Ride and Cherry Blossom Festival. One weekend, I decided to ride my bicycle the 30 or so kilometers from Bundang out to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Seoul proper. My ride began with the twenty minute ride I took to work every weekday along the small river in town. I passed some of Bundang's largest and most distinctive buildings on the way. The H-shaped building is particularly impressive. The frantic fish were at the base of what looked like a military base. Cherry bloss...

Flat Stanley's Visit with Aunt Laura & Uncle John

Sunday, June 13, 2010. Yes, that IS a real name of a lake! Aunt Laura and Uncle John live 1 mile away from the craziest lake name I've ever seen! It doesn't even fit ON THE SIGN! It's an old Indian phrase that means "you fish on your side, I'll fish on my side, nobody fishes in the middle.". What a fun name to say, but everyone just calls it "Webster Lake.". Salute to our Veterans! Major Gary Spinelli - United States Marine Corps! Commander Michael Bobulinski of the United States Navy. Thank you to Barba...
