Guido and I went to Rome recently, and while reacquainting myself with the city I saw so many years ago as a teenager, he decided to take me to the famous Piazza Navona, sight of the Tre Fontane (The Three Fountains). I went to Piazza Novana sixteen years ago on a tour in high school, and vaguely remembered savoring a delicious gelato while sitting next to one of the Tre Fontane at night. Do it on a straight line all the way around over the widest circumference (Great Circle) that runs through my home coordinates. And keep on a line that is always 45* (true north basis) from the starting point until I get half way around and then I'd keep on the same line but the bearing from the starting point would always be 225* (reciprocal of 45*). How do you do it?
