Because we wanted some access to news and weather and analog tv is going the way of the gas light. So here we are exploring this new thing called on demand. Wow! We found and watched some back shows of CSI NY that we have missed, as well as Numb3rs AND tomorrow there will be Battlestar Galactica! We are busy resting. Something we haven't done in literally years!

Saturday, December 30, 2006. It's been a long time since I posted an update about Baby Roxy. A couple of friends got in touch, worried that we were back in the hospital, but thank God, we aren’t. Things have actually been pretty mellow. We later saw a GI doctor at Georgtown University Hospital, plus a feeding tube specialist at Children’s Hospital, who both agreed that unless Roxanne’s swallow and/or reflux improve dramatically over the next few weeks, she will need a G-tube and nissen. Monday, April 30, 2007. Roxanne is, indeed, getting stronger. Up till last week, when I took Roxanne to the grocery store, I put her in either an infant car seat or one of those bucket seats that are attached to the cart. On our last visit, she was able to sit up in the child seat at the front of the cart. She looked so mature! Granted, she got a little slumpy by the end of the trip, but she made it through. Vacation - Talentedhands

Jun 22nd, 2006. First of all, happy summer solstice a day late. I love the summer. I love the long days! All hail the sun! For the last 6 days, I've been vacationing in a small town in Illinois, about an hour west of Chicago. Dan's family lives there, so we've made an annual trip for the last 4 years or so. Amazingly enough, Dan's kids were still willing to go, despite their teenager-ness. It wasn't an exciting vacation, and it was great. Here's what we did, in no particular order:. Eat, eat, eat!

I hate the fact that my eldest is going through a great deal of unpleasentness today and I can't be there to hold her hand. I hate the fact that this place has never heard of donor kebob and I've been dreaming about donor kebob for over 25 years. sigh. Ok I feel a little bit better.

Aug 17th, 2006. So, remember those vague good vibes I wrote about on July 20? Well, they resulted in Dan and I adopting a beautiful, healthy, newborn girl: Roxanne Marie. She was born August 4, adopted August 7. She was born right here in Virginia, so all the complications of an international adoption are no more. Hurrah! Congratulations go out to Jennifer and her husband Dan, plus their two, now THREE kids [Dan has two teenagers from his previous marriage] for the newest addition: baby Roxanne Marie.
