Living the Bear River Lifestyle. Following the sand path. This is a section of the brick pathway near the house. This rock had been buried in the upper vineyard. After it was set as a garden feature, time and rain washed it clean. The circle of color appeared. It was an amazing gift from the hill. Spring in the gardens. Living the Bear River Lifestyle. When spring breaks out in the New York Muscat vineyard. A fine place to work. It is lily season in the vineyards.The Frontenac Gris grapes are really growing. This lily hiding in the Frontenac grape vines is one of Robert’s favorites. The Pinot Gri grapes in August. The Pinot Gris grapes look good this year. We were pleased in 2011 when Jost Vineyards. Created this fine wine from our first Pinot Gris harvest along with that of RB Vineyard also of Bear River.

Of course, in many ways, the sharing of these acres with the wildlife here is also due to our intended or inadvertent enticement. Many we have actually encouraged to come, for our pleasure or to benefit pollination and pest control. This Fritillary (Painted Lady) butterfly seemed to love being photographed. Watching pollination in poetic motion filled several magic moments this summer. Here pollen is once again in transit.
