Food and Trail Running: July 2010

http://foodandtrailrunning.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Food and Trail Running. Thursday, July 15, 2010. Heat training has it's benefits. Heat training sucks. It's hot and sweaty, gives me chaffing in places I wish not to mention in this forum, and when I get home I have to wring my clothes out before I can enter the house. As the post title says though there are benefits to this whole heat training crap. At 46th and Judah to build my own damn house. Built my own damn house. Saturday, July 3, 2010. 48 on the Iron Horse trail. In a few weeks. I am doing a ...

Food and Trail Running: December 2009

http://foodandtrailrunning.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html

Food and Trail Running. Monday, December 14, 2009. This post is long over-due but here it is non-the-less. I have been using The Gel-Bot. For about six months now on many of my longer trail runs. The Gel-Bot is great because it allows me to be able to consume gels without having to mess around with trying to get packaging open, or out of pockets while on the move or when my hands are too cold and I am lacking dexterity. I used two of Hydrapak's products for Headlands Hundred. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Food and Trail Running: March 2010

http://foodandtrailrunning.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Food and Trail Running. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. Going into Lake Sonoma 50. I was hoping to accomplish a few things:. I wanted to use a time sheet to set my pace, stay on my nutrition without going overboard, have fun, and push myself into an uncomfortable pace for the majority of the race. When setting up my pace sheet I knew I had become a stronger racer than I was last year ( for my first 50miler. I was thinking I could put myself right around Jon Olsen's. Views of the Course. Malfunction. I was t...

Tuesday, May 10, 2011. This past weekend I ran the Miwok 100k Trail Race. 3-D view of the course. I had checked my training log the night before the race and realized that this race would be my longest run since I ran the Western States 100 nearly two years ago. It would also be my last big training run leading up to Comrades. Elevation profile of Miwok course. Coming into the first aid station (photo by Randy Katz). Jon Kroll: Return to the Napa Valley Marathon

http://jonkroll.blogspot.com/2011/03/return-to-napa-valley-marathon.html

Monday, March 7, 2011. Return to the Napa Valley Marathon. The Napa Valley Marathon. What my training lacked in quantity it had been making up for in quality. Amongst other training I had been doing two weekly runs consistantly - an early Thursday morning 12-mile loop in the Marin Headlands with a group of stealthy ultrarunning ninjas, and a long run on Saturdays at Sawyer Camp Trail with a group from the Palo Alto Run Club. Yes, that was local running sensation Ian Sharman. Who just one month earlier ha...

Jon Kroll: May 2011

http://jonkroll.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Tuesday, May 31, 2011. On Sunday I had the pleasure of running the Comrades Marathon. Actually a 54-mile ultramarathon) in South Africa with 12,000 other runners. Yes, you read that right. There's an ultramarathon with 12,000 runners. This is the worlds oldest (first run in 1921) and largest ultra, and the centerpiece of South African running culture. But rather "how many Comrades have you run? Comrades assigns different-colored bib number colors to runners for various situations, including:. As an inter...

Payam's Training Blog: Week of 6/13-6/19

http://payamsaljoughian.blogspot.com/2011/06/week-of-613-619.html

Sunday, June 19, 2011. Had a pretty good week this week. Ran 56 miles and swam 10,500 yards. I ran 14 on Monday, Ninja run. On Thursday, 20 on Saturday, and 10 on Sunday. I had a little bit of pain in my inner right calf towards the end of the week, but don't think it is anything serious. Suggested that it might be due to a lack of sleep and I'm pretty sure he was right. I haven't been sleeping enough recently, and it is beginning to take its toll on my body.
