Sunday, December 2, 2012. There seem to have been an abundance of (delicious organic! Carrots lately, and when I arrived home with my laden vegie box, I thought I'd google a few recipes to give us all some inspiration for the coming week! For 'saucy meatball and carrot bake with crispy feta crumbs'. For 'quick carrot and walnut bread'. For 'carrot and sesame burgers'. For 'carrot, cumin and feta fritters with coriander yoghurt'. For 'carrot poduthuval' - a delicious sounding Indian carrot stir-fry.

Phillip Island Food Fanatics: What Are Green Smoothies?

http://phillipislandfoodfanatics.blogspot.com/2012/09/what-are-green-smoothies.html

Thursday, September 6, 2012. What Are Green Smoothies? For those that don’t know I have recently published a book called “The Green Smoothie Bible”. I have hence been asked to post some green smoothie recipes, but thought I would give some background as to what they are, and why they are so awesome! Here are a few guidelines for my green smoothie recipes:. Recipes make enough for about 1 litre of green smoothie unless otherwise stated. This is enough for about 2 servings. Slice or break fruit into approp...

Phillip Island Food Fanatics: June 2011

http://phillipislandfoodfanatics.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Sunday, June 26, 2011. In which the kids go crazy over sweet potatoes. Lately we've been dabbling in some alternative baking. Our first attempt was a black bean chocolate cake (you can read about it here. The adults loved them and two out of our three child testers gave them the thumbs up. I suspect the third rejected them on the basis of the chunks of walnut and not the overall flavour. I definitely think we'll be trying these again next time we get golden sweet potatoes in our veg box!

Phillip Island Food Fanatics: August 2012

http://phillipislandfoodfanatics.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 27, 2012. Beet, Orange, Fennel and Kale Salad. Beets are great with walnut. The beet leaves from this weeks box are small , so make lovely salad leaves. Orange and fennel have always been friends and this week's tiny fennel bulb is perfect for salad. Together with walnuts it gives great crunch. Lien was right about eating the small kale leaves raw, the nutty texture and flavour is amazing. So I made a salad from this week's box:. Beet, Orange, Fennel and Kale Salad. Posted by Kerry T.

Phillip Island Food Fanatics: Quinoa with fennel and anchovies

http://phillipislandfoodfanatics.blogspot.com/2012/09/quinoa-with-fennel-and-anchovies.html

Monday, September 10, 2012. Quinoa with fennel and anchovies. I love a hot lunch. Even when I am home alone, I will make up a vegie pasta and then indulge myself in a solo meal (sometimes getting to catch up on a novel). So one weekends, when we are all at home, hot lunches are pretty much obligatory. To feed 3 people (two big, one little) I used:. 1 small onion, diced (I had half a medium sized one left from something else). 2 cloves of garlic. I bulb of fennel (chopped), bulb and leaves. Quinoa is a gl...

July 23, 2009. Easiest Peach-Blueberry Cobbler in the World. 8212; anhdeluxe @ 5:24 am. I’ve been eating a ton of fresh blueberries and other fruits of the season. One thing that keeps on leaping out with each juicy mouthful is how nice a hint of cinnamon would be with the berries. I got some excellent peaches at a farmstand this last weekend too.
