http://www.runwithzahida.com/2014/11/race-report-rock-n-roll-vancouver.html
Saturday, November 1, 2014. Race Report: Rock N Roll Vancouver Cunningham Seawall 10K. Approximately a week ago, on October 26th 2014, was the inaugural Rock N Roll race event in Vancouver. I opted for the 10km option over the half marathon when I first registered as I had planned to take this season off of long distance races to focus on building speed on the shorter distances. Of course the 10km option was building on the tradition of the old James Cunningham Seawall Race. What's next for me? No more r...

Training Upstream: April 2013
http://trainingupstream.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 19, 2013. Run for your life. I do not take any of this for granted. The Boston bombing has left me bereft. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Friday, April 5, 2013. This is a picture of a sun rise. I took this about two weeks ago as I walked in silent meditation as part of a recent ashram trip to South India. The silence was almost as difficult as running. Almost. This is the beach my husband and I ran on this morning:. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Location: Sala Dan,Thailand.

Training Upstream: Vortex Running
http://trainingupstream.blogspot.com/2014/02/vortex-running.html
Friday, February 7, 2014. Is the nasty bit. Does this make me a "real" runner? I am the only person in doubt. Then again, there is this:. I have signed up for the Hypothermic Half in Montreal, coming up February 16. I expect to finish. I expect discomfort. And cold feet. Labels: Running training pain. Training Upstream: February 2013
http://trainingupstream.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 21, 2013. Bundled up for a -10 degree run in Toronto:. I prefer hot weather runs, though perform better in cold. There's a positive in there somewhere.hard to say in mid-February Canada. Next (official) race is early May in Toronto. Must get through taxes before that. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Monday, February 11, 2013. I have decided to give up the focus on speeding up. It's making these races unenjoyable. The improvement has been in recovery time and I accept this. Toron...

One way to avoid the reality of winter is to plan for spring. Paul and I just registered for The Toronto Goodlife Half Marathon. To be held May 5, 2013 in Toronto. Lots of stuff between now and then, including races in Miami and Vancouver and a two-week, non running stint at an ashram in Trivandrum, India. Ten days to Miami.

Training Upstream: October 2013
http://trainingupstream.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 25, 2013. To the beat of whatever Robyn says. I cannot run without music. One mix of genres: house, deep, Chicago, progressive, trance with the occasional nod to 70s disco, the William Blake of dance music. Posted using BlogPress from my iPhone. Sunday, October 6, 2013. A personal best to report for the 64th Parc Lafontaine 10k. I cut 5 minutes off of my time. Still slow by most standards, just to contextualize.but man alive! The time today really helped a lot.
