Friday, January 30, 2015. J" left our home 2 weeks ago today, and I can say with certainty that we have NEVER felt loved more than we have in these last 14 days. We had so many people send us messages, bring meals, offer a listening ear or a hug, and pray for our family. It's incredible the blessing that you receive when you do something hard. Oh, my. Evaluated, writing letters explaining employment (or "un"employment) and child request and prior medical diagnoses, getting fingerprinted, reading books, doing online and in-person trainings, and waiting patiently for government clearance, we are DONE! I've read enough adoption blogs to know that this is what people want to know! When did we start the process, how long did it take, were there any holdups? Well at this point I can only tell you that we've begun the process. Two or three years from now hopefully this timeline will be complete! August 2012 Sarah begins feeling the calling to adopt from Ethiopia and begins frantically reading blogs, watching youtube videos, and crying a lot. February 6, 2013 Officially accepted into AWAA's Ethiopia Program.

Arlo had her first basketball game on Saturday morning, and it was so fun to watch her! The game didn't go their way, but she was all smiles and excitement when it was over. After her game, we drove to Logan to celebrate Christmas with Larry and Steph (Michael's dad and stepmom). I am grateful that my kids have so many loving grandparents!
